The campaign of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) is seeking to play down news that the former first lady gave an incorrect account of landing in Bosnia in 1996 under sniper fire, and refused to answer additional questions about a flap that could hurt her chances of catching Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) in the race for the Democratic nomination.
“We’ve said all we’re going to say on that,” said Deputy Communications Director Phil Singer on a Tuesday morning conference call with reporters.
A video from CBS News had shown that Clinton’s version of having come under sniper fire was not correct. Her campaign chalked up the discrepancy between her account and the video as a case of Clinton misspeaking.
The Obama campaign seized on the story when it was splashed across the CBS website Monday, with spokesman Tommy Vietor saying it is “part of a troubling pattern of Sen. Clinton inflating her foreign policy experience.”
Top Clinton surrogates also sought to play down the story, which could prove to be harmful to the former first lady’s chances.
Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.), who was asked about the flap on MSNBC, referred to it as a “small incident that happened 10 to 15 years ago.”
Baghdad, Bosnia...both start with B and there's Muslims in both places, so she could have gotten them confused. Of course the scenery is a bit different.

It’s hard to keep your story straight when you tell so many lies eh Hillary? Reminds me of a black widow tangling herself up in her own web of lies.
However, there IS an easy way to avoid "issues" like the one Hillary! is facing now. Just tell the truth. :-)
BTW, and IMHO....a person "misspeaks" when asked what they had for breakfast yesterday, and they reply with what they ate the day before. A person "misspeaks" when they travel constantly and they say "Hello New York" when they're really in New Orleans.
Unless she's getting shot at everyday, remembering nonexistent sniper fire isn't a misstatement....it's a lie.
Maybe she has her trip to Bosnia confused with offing Vince Foster.
Not only is she NOT getting shot at everyday, she has NEVER been shot at, EVER. It would be the same as me proclaiming that my experience landing F-14's on aircraft carriers qualifies me for a job as a Delta 747 pilot, when in fact I've never been in the military and I've never flown anything. She is a bald-faced liar, and she does it with ease and conviction, just like her perjuring, adulterating, rapist husband.

Aw, come on, folks! Give the little gal a break! At least she didn’t give herself a Silver Star for extraordinary bravery or apply for a couple of Purple Hearts (like some other Democrats I could mention did).
Democrat logic. Hillary, as wife of a president, is ready on day one to be president. George W. Bush, son of a president, had no experience, and in the view of most of them, still has no experience.
