You realize of course that this is an excellent example of what a John McCain presidency will bring us, a multitude of new political prospects that haven’t a clue what conservatism is, yet being lofted to run for office as Republicans.
We won’t be getting one John McCain. We’ll be getting hundreds if not thousands of them. Each one will be voted in for the same reason John will be. “Well, I know they’re terrible, but look who they’re running against.”
Good-bye conservatism. It was nice knowing you.
So True. By electing McCain you will be getting hundreds of leftists in leadership positions throughout the GOP. Conservatives, and particularly conservative candidates, will be squashed.
Yep — we are on the same page.
In addition to that, it’s pretty frustrating that they are recruiting people who have never been involved or even followed the politics in the state. Meg’s first contribution to state politics was to back Democrat Steve Westly for Controller — running against Tom McClintock. After that, she threw more money into Westly’s campaign for Governor two-and-a-half years ago, along with bucks for Democrat Assemblyman Joe Simitian.
And she doesn’t have a position on immigration? Give me a break! She may be a great business-woman, but what the heck makes her qualified to be governor — and what the heck makes her a Republican?
The big-money donors are still using the Hollywood scouting agents to look for the latest puppet to put in office. The more empty the political resume, the better. That way they can try to sell the blank-sheet as whatever feel like might sell at the moment.
