Limbaugh on McCain: It's Better to Be Right All the Time (Limbaugh Wants McCain Defeated)
By Howard Kurtz

It may be the best sideshow in presidential politics: the nation's top radio talker trying to take down the Republican front-runner in today's Super Tuesday showdown.
Rush Limbaugh has been relentless in his criticism of John McCain, prompting suggestions that he may have to soften his stance if the Arizona senator wins the nomination and faces off against Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. But if that happens, Limbaugh said in an interview over the weekend, he would rather see the Democrats win the White House.
"If I believe the country will suffer with either Hillary, Obama or McCain, I would just as soon the Democrats take the hit . . . rather than a Republican causing the debacle," he said. "And I would prefer not to have conservative Republicans in the Congress paralyzed by having to support, out of party loyalty, a Republican president who is not conservative."

Operation Chaos= Operation elect Hillary Clinton
Here you go again....
49% DISAPPROVAL country wide. What are you on?
I must have missed that show...because it’s not so...I havce a feeling this is going to be a very long thread of people proving this wrong.
Thank the Lord, Rush Limbaughs on. Thank the Lord, Rush Limbaughs on. Thank the Lord, Rush Limbaughs on. Talent on loan from GOD!
Name that tune in 20 seconds.
I agree with you. Rush is pushing Hillary now and if she becomes the nominee expect him to turn on McCain in the fall about ie. immigration, tax cuts (any excuse). He will be on McCain like white on rice.
Rush wants Hillary to win the WH. It would be good for his ratings but disasterous for the country. And it is sad to see him playing some people on this board like fools.
well, there’s not really that much Sinister Juan “Keating Five” McCranky....can offer conservatives....its’ a lose / lose for us.
At the contrary, everytime El Zibo speaks about McCain he speaks with a very hateful and angry tone.
Frankly, it really doesn’t matter who wins this election because they’re all the same candidate. The winner of this election=Sulla the Dictator. The next President=Crassus. Guess what’s coming after that? As an American it’s sad to see the direction the country is headed towards. As a fan of history, it looks like I won’t be bored anytime during my (hopefully long) lifetime.
It’s become apparent that someone on FR is pushing stupid pills.
Many people forget that Rush is an entertainer first and foremost.
I think that Rush has actually been taking it easy on McAmnesty.
Agree on all of your points except that Hillary Clinton will try to establish the “fairness doctrine” on talk radio although El Zibo does not think she will succeed. She will with a democrat Congress.
He’s said repeatedly that both Hillary and Obama would be disasterous for the country. He’ll point out McCain’s defects but he’s been clear that he’d never support Hillary or Obama.
Rush did say that to boost Romney’s chance of defeating McCain in the primary. Rush has since changed his tune. He has said on numerous occasions that he wants McCain to win. I think the FISA vote sobered him up.
But the 45% who support her will be voting for her in much larger margin than those 55% who hate or dislike her. Many of those 55% who do not like her will not bother and vote.
Rush may have the right idea. Not about defeating McCain, as hopefully he will beat either of the two Democrats, but in holding McCain’s feet to the conservative fire.
Rush is now in the enviable position of being able to freely criticize McCain once he is elected. Rush might be able to make McCain behave more conservatively, by denying him the automatic support of conservatives.
Likely, McCain will still have a liberal Democrat congress to contend with, yet with the conservatives in congress opposing him, and the liberals opposing him as well, any stupidly liberal things he might do would get torpedoed.
We don’t get a conservative President, but we get Washington gridlock, which is almost as good.
