WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE.....Bill Lynch, a top Democrat, advised Paterson to reveal his affairs.
Gov. Paterson is angrily blaming former Deputy Mayor and long time Democratic operative Bill Lynch for the "disastrous advice" to disclose his extramarital affairs......."Lynch helped the city's first black mayor lose office, and now he's helping the state's first black governor do the same." Lynch, a deputy to Mayor David Dinkins and a lobbyist who brags of his ties to public officials, played a key role in convincing the new governor he could end widespread rumors of martial infidelities if he simply disclosed their existence.....Instead, the disclosure - initially incomplete - triggered a damaging media frenzy that still continues. "It was the wrong advice, and it has damaged David badly," said a source who knows Paterson well. Several sources said Paterson has privately conceded that his public disclosures - first in an interview and then at a tense, and bizarre, press conference with Michelle at his side - were a major mistake. Democratic officials also fear that Paterson may have been so badly damaged by the disclosures that he will have little chance to attract the tens of millions he would need to mount a 2010 campaign for governor. Paterson ducked questions and received chants of "David! David!" from a jubilant crowd during an appearance before Al Sharpton's National Action Network in Harlem.......powwowed with Sharpton and made a brief speech about fairness..... "Just as it is always important not to forget where you came from, which I will not do, it is also important not to exclude anyone else in the way we were excluded for so many years by others," Paterson told the crowd.

“Eliot steamrolled over his own appendage, Paterson used a backhoe. /sarcasm (apologies to FReeper backhoe)”
Forgive me, O Lord, for the pun I am about to post.
Eliot steamrolled over his own appendage, Paterson used a back-ho. /sarcasm (apologies to FReeper backhoe)
OOPSIE! Was it Spitzer or Patterson who was partial to ‘back-ho’s’?
Without a list, updated daily, who’s a normal citizen to keep up with which politician is doing what to whom on the taxpayers tab?
Sheesh...you've gone and said it. I tried to be subtle, Clintonesque, but you've exposed me to the rath of Socialist Sharpton, the commissar of morality/racism. Thanks a lot bray. /sarcasm
...and thanks for your braying articles, also. :)
So either the Democrats nominate him for a run in 2010 and a shot at being elected Gov in his own right, or they throw him under the bus in favor of someone more "electable." Either way, the GOP may have a shot.
Not that I expect much from them either.
Par for the course in this new ‘post racial’ America Obama has brought us. We have an alderman who has been in jail for more than 6 months awaiting federal and state charges who is running for re-election. He won the primary and will win the run-off as well. It will not be until he is convicted that he has to give up his seat and $80,000 p/year salary. His uncle was just convicted of paying undercover cops $5 and driving them to the polls to vote for him, but in the ‘hood’ he is a hero because he is standing up to ‘the man.
A dream. Paterson won't make it till next month, race card or not. He's toast!
Lol. He's on a roll.
lets see Black Mayor, Black Governor, next step is........... Black..... Hey wait a minute.
Awwwwww you almost got me you guys, you're such kidders
Ya think? DOH
But it would have been reported eventually.
My thoughts exactly.

Lynch? That name is racist and I’m offended by it! We must pass a law requiring that all people with name change it.
OK I’m being absurd but how long might it be before someone actually says that??
Remember people, what you do when you think you wont get caught usually comes back to haunt you.Retroactively Prophetic
LOL at an excellent play on words
Paterson’s anger with Lynch is akin to someone pleading guilty on the advice of a lawyer, expecting a reduced sentence, then getting PO’d when the judge throws the book at him. ‘My lawyer is no good! He promised I’d get leniency if I copped to the robbery! Boo hoo, woe is me!’
There’s not a scintilla or shred of remorse for the act of repeated extramarital trysts (on the public dime, no less). Only anger that he’d been given rotten advice. But he’s the one who acted on the advice and fessed up. This refusal to accept personal responsibility is so typical today. He won’t even take responsibility for acting on poor advice. He could at least admit he’s a fool for not thinking through the ramifications, but even that is beyond him. Bill Lynch was supposed to think through the fallout, and didn’t. It’s all his fault. What a total scumbag.
Actually this is too funny. If Paterson knew Lynch advised Dinkins, which he obviously did, then why did he listen to him? Accusing someone else of ones own stupidity in actions is entirely Democrat.
Albany interns have quite a story to tell---Paterson and Silver did nothing to stop assaulys on interns.
Silver's ex-aide Michael Boxley seduced interns with date rape drugs---one intern told Silver what had happened but Silver did nothing about it.
Once can only imagine the locker room talk in the halls of Albany over the incidents---the lowlife legislators musta got quite a few vicarious thrills in the retelling of the sex-charged stories. (Boxley pled guilty, was ousted, lost his law license).
WOMEN'S FURY OVER AXED AIDE By FREDRIC U. DICKER, NY POST
February 28, 2005 -- The two women who say they were raped by the Assembly's former chief counsel have sent an unprecedented "open letter" to state lawmakers, urging an end to the "victimization" of female employees.
The women, former Assembly staffers, faxed the letter late last week to all 212 lawmakers in the wake of Senate Minority Leader David Paterson's decision to fire his receptionist, Neysha Williams, who complained of harassment and a nonsexual violent assault at the hands of Sen. Kevin Parker (D-Brooklyn).
"We have come together to address the prevalence of Assembly and Senate employees being victimized by those who hold immense power over their personal and professional lives, as well as their physical well-being," Elizabeth Crothers and the second victim wrote.
Crothers filed an administrative charge of rape against Michael Boxley in 2001. The second victim asked that her name be kept out of the media after she accused Boxley in a criminal rape complaint in 2003. "Rather than acting against the perpetrator, Sen. Paterson decided to transfer her [Williams] to another office after she complained," says the letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Post. "When she declined, she was dismissed. "Rather than hiding the alleged victim, we believe that those in leadership positions should consider relocating Mr. Parker: See how he likes being hidden in an office down the street."
The women then call on legislators to "send a letter publicly to Sen. [Majority Leader Joseph] Bruno and Sen. Paterson, urging them to take steps to protect Ms. Williams, not sanction her."
Paterson (D-Manhattan) defended his action, saying transferring Parker wouldn't have made a difference because Williams "was a receptionist in my office, where she would have encountered him regularly." "We wanted to get her temporarily out of the line of fire, move her to protect her and respond to her concerns, and we even offered her a paid leave of absence, but over a period of a week, she refused," he said.
State lawmakers were on vacation last week, and most aren't expected to see the letter until today. Boxley, 45, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of sexual misconduct in late 2003 under a plea bargain that kept him out of jail but required him to be placed on the state's sex-offender registry.
