Killer Motorist Tries To Sue Teen Victim
Updated:13:07, Wednesday January 30, 2008
A Spanish motorist who killed a teenage cyclist has dropped a lawsuit against the youngster's family after public outrage at the case.

Accident victim Enaitz Iriondo
Businessman Tomas Delgado had claimed the parents of 17-year-old Enaitz Iriondo were liable for the damage to his car.
Hundreds of people had gathered outside the courthouse in the town of Haro in northern Spain where the case was to be heard when Delgado's lawyer announced his client was dropping the lawsuit.
Iriondo was cycling to a campsite where his family was on holiday in August 2004 when he was hit from behind by Delgado's Audi A8.
The teenager was dragged for more than 100 yards along the road.
A traffic report at the time said Delgado was doing 70mph in a 55mph zone.
Shortly after the collision, a judge dismissed charges against Delgado after concluding that he had committed no crime.
His insurance company paid Iriondo's parents 33,000 Euros in compensation for their son's life, but Delgado filed a suit to recover 20,000 Euros in damages to his car and car rental costs.
In a recent television interview he insisted he was also a victim and that the publicity surrounding the case amounted to a public lynching.

Motorist speeds, hits and kills boy. Motorist's insurance company pays $48,500 to parents ... then motorist sues for $29,400 for repairs to his luxury car. No one needs to know my first thought about this guy.

"$30,000 for car repairs?" (Post 2) --- From other articles I read it was a high-end luxury Audi A8. Whoopee!
"Lemme guess...you wanna sue him for getting blood on your baseball bat." (Post 3). --- No. Something much more sinister and worse ... imagination please. But I swear, I will not sue him for anything. His family would need the funds, not a lawyer.

Delgado looks like a smug, arrogant bastard.
How the hell the judge decided this lowlife “had committed no crime” is beyond me. Nah, the judge was probably bribed. Or utterly stupid.

Please do not let CNN’s Jack Cafferty or Rick Sanchez read this story. Those boys have done well enough without cashing in on their past acts of vehicular homicide.

I was going to say something about third world country but this kind of crap happens here too.
Judges take bribes as does a cop or witness.
Then there always is the old intimidation routine.

Just damn...
If the kid had been drunk, had jumped the bike off an embankment and landed on the hood of my car I still would not say a &*()ing word about what it would cost me to fix my car.
What a lowlife creep!

A friend of mine was hit by a motorcyclist. The police said my friend was zero percent responsible.
My friends car was totaled and the motorcyclist died.
The dead guys family sued my friend for wrongful death arguing that if he had not been where he was the dead guy would not have hit him.
My friends insurance paid $75,000 to the dead guys family rather than fight it in court.

I had a 12 year old cousin that was hit by a Porche which was only going about 25 MPH so he was able to brake so that he only bumped the kid, so that he slid up the hood and broke the windshield with his head. The accident was totally the kids fault and he was not injured. State Farm, the guys insurance co wanted my Uncle to file a claim on his homeowners insurance to fix the windshield, Fortunately he told him this over the phone as he might have gotten blood on his baseball bat.

A real “public lynching” would resolve all of Mr. Delgado’s problems. He must be confused about a lot more stuff than what it means when you exceed the speed limit and run down a bicyclist from the rear.

And he was right.
No lawyer, nor their pathetic groupies, will ever convince me that any suit such as this should be allowed to enter the system in the first place.
