That was my thought too. He wasn’t even the one to call 911.

But Russo quickly swung into action after spotting the incapacitated Schwing through a window Thursday afternoon. Well that explains it. When the schwing is incapacitated, what choice does one have?

Why are they referring to her as “mom” in the headline?
To: ovrtaxt
My Schwing was incapacitated once; it was a real bummer.
To: ovrtaxt
Does your schwing hang low?
Does it wobble to and fro?
Can you tie it in a knot?
Can you tie it in a bow?
Can you throw it o’er your shoulder
like a continental soldier?
Does your schwing hang low?
...that sounds bad...

First sentence in article, says “ mother of two” in describing her, did you read any of the article?

Yes I read it. What does being a mother of two have to do with it? If she’d been a man, would the article have described him as a “dad of two?” No. Or if they’d referred to her as a “hero wife,” or a “hero daughter” in this context, would that make sense? No.

Kim Russo deserves a medal, ‘though I’m sure she’d say she doesn’t.

This helps remind us all that every few days we should look in on our friends/relatives who live alone.. no matter what their age.

Or if they’d referred to her as a “hero wife,” or a “hero daughter” in this context, would that make sense? No. +++++++++++++++++++++++ How about "Pet owner" or "SUV owner"?
To: 668 - Neighbor of the Beast
Yes. Furthermore, what do her gender, age or maternal status have to do with this rescue? And I'm really troubled by the ageist remark that she saved "a senior." The article would have been much better if it complied with the AP stylebook and simply said "person saves person". However, are we really certain that Person 1 really saved Person 2? Maybe "Person 1 allegedly saves Person 2" would have been better. The "person" label is contentious and the author should probably fear being labeled a speciesist. What a conundrum. What to do? I'm paralyzed by fear as I edit the article.

I’m partial to “neighbor,” myself. :)
