Years ago in 1966, ID Republicans retired a liberal governor in their primary. And in 1980 general election, they retired a Democrat, Frank Church. But otherwise it is rare for ID people to reject their “friendly incumbents”.

I didn't know Church was from Idaho! Does he still live there? Somebody should find he and all the members of the Church Committee and thank them for giving us the Sept. 11 attacks.

Yes, but Church lost primarily because of his support of the Panama Canal giveaway and his CIA bashing. Helen Chenowith barely survived her last election because of kooky extremism. Rep. Sali is on thin ice for the same reason.

Probably 80% of Idaho voters oppose amnesty and probably 90% of Idaho Republicans feel similarly. It is not difficult for find good Conservatives in Idaho.

Craig made politically fatal mistakes with his push for amnesty and public homosexual activities. He will not be missed in Idaho, although his pro-gun stance was extremely helpful.
