Somebody better break it to the New York Times: they might still be the paper of record in their own minds, but to the rest of the world, they're just one more dead-tree joint struggling for attention.
The Old Grey Lady's unjustified conceit was on display during this afternoon's Hardball, when one of its reporters was aghast that Chris Matthews had had the audacity not to have read her oeuvre.
NYT reporter Deborah Solomon had interviewed the Rev. John Hagee, a minister who has endorsed McCain and has made a number of controversial statements. I would mention in passing that while Hagee's critics have accused him of anti-Semitism, he has in fact received numerous awards from Jewish groups for his steadfast support of Israel.

In Matthews defense, maybe he was too busy to read the article as his time lately has been taken up with licking Obama’s boots.
I saw it and she was aghast. I have been watching Chris lately for it is fun to watch the Demos eat their own children.
I played the video. The reporter is great. She has a face for comedy and the take she gave Chwissy was worthy of bit I once saw Albert Brooks do on comedians doing takes. If SNL has scouts scouring for comedic talent, look no further, Deborah has found her calling.

I’ve done some Googling since posting the article. I’m pretty sure it was Joe E. Lewis who I had in mind when speaking of the old comedian she reminded me of who could stick his entire fist in his mouth.
