CNN) -- A 1970s radical who spent years as a housewife while on the run from the law has been released from prison in California.
Sara Jane Olson, a former member of the Symbionese Liberation Army, had been serving time for her role for incidents in 1975 -- the attempted bombing of two police cars and the shooting death of a customer during a robbery of a bank.
Prosecutors say she was part of an SLA plot to murder two Los Angeles police officers by planting bombs under their cars but that the bombs did not go off and no one was hurt.
After authorities started looking for her, Olson fled California and lived for more than two decades as a fugitive before she was arrested in 1999 in Minnesota. She had married and was raising three daughters there.
Olson had also changed her name. She was formerly known as Kathleen Soliah.

I remember when she was arrested in MN. The local lefties went nuts. 6 years for participating in a homicide doesn’t seem right.

I agree...but with all the reasons that can get you “time off”, I’m surprised she served that much. And now that she’s served her time, the alphabet stations will all want to interview her, and will treat her as a hero.

I remember reading about this when she was originally arrested. Could not have served much more than 1 year. I seem to remember she was a good lefty who drove a Volvo and lived in Minnesota.
