The same thing happened yesterday in my town. (Evansville, IN) Three black utes broke into a woman's home and while she was calling 911, shot her son. I heard the tape of the call on TV and the gunshot is clearly audible over her helpless screams. Fortunately, her son will survive and the perps are behind bars.

Had she been armed, the call would have gone something like this:

Operator: "911 Emergency. What is your emergency?"
Caller: "Um, yeah. I need you to send over the police and the coroner. Three guys broke into my house. I blew one away with my shotgun and the other two crapped themselves."
