Barack Obama is nothing if not smooth. He seamlessly turned a would-be apology over his pastor's racism into an indictment against society's racism.
It wasn't, "Jeremiah Wright was wrong, and I was wrong for going to his church for 20 years despite his apparently unforgiving spirit, his racist and anti-American utterances, and his vulgarity, including taking the Lord's name in vain from his very pulpit -- the one venue above all on God's sacred planet that such irreverence is inalterably forbidden. No matter what racial injustices have been perpetrated over the years by mankind toward mankind, they are never an excuse for disrespecting God, and especially in His house."
Instead, Obama said, essentially, "I reject many of Rev. Wright's remarks as divisive and perhaps even unfairly critical of America, but you have to admit, he has a point."
You can talk all you want to about Obama's "audacity of hope" theme, but the only audacity I heard in his speech was his lecturing Americans on their racism instead of explaining his longtime intimate relationship with Wright.
Obama's forte is not, as many have suggested, waxing eloquent while saying nothing. His real gift is saying one thing while appearing to say the opposite, so mellifluously and disarmingly that audiences shake their heads in affirmation of the very proposition they oppose. Without changing their minds, they believe they have agreed with him. Amazing -- and scary.

Don’t tell me about racism Mr. Obama. I’ve had it with blacks hating whites.

His whole campaign is about race now.
Obama’s black Jesus looks down on white Christians.
Everything wrong in the black world is because of white people, some how, some time, some place.
Bring it on!! We need to have a FRANK discussion in America.
Not some whitewashed politically correct tap dance around the real problems created by the blame game.
They won’t like what we have to say. But they don’t like us now anyhow. So what if we offend them? It will be nothing but the truth.
Obama {redacted] Hussein is a la-hoos-er. Racist enablers do not belong in the White House.
Obama is trying to convince Americans that it is not Wright’s fault that he feels that way due to past discrimination. Thus Americans should understand the man and overlook Obama’a association with him. That is the rational many blacks are using, that the black racist is justified by the past and that should be understood and ovelooked. Funny, I can show you poor whites who could not move out of their schools due to busing. When they arrived at the inner city schools, the white students were singled out for racial attacks and bullying. Many grew up hating blacks, and to make matters worst, some could not get promotions due to affirmative action policies in the corporations they worked in. Naturally these angry white guys hang around with white friends whom some sympathize or are member of white separatist/supremecy groups. Many of these angry white guys do not belong to them, but see these groups as a way of expressing their frustrations of being blamed for racism. Using the black rational for Rev Wright, would these blacks have a problem if one of these smart angry white guys want to apply for a job in their town’s police force??????
Obama's Grandmother: "Typical White Person"

(A small analysis at the end by yours truly)
If you went to Limbaugh’s house for 20 years and shared his drugs, yes it would make you a drug user. Did you lose your ability to think logically by association with somebody, or is that your own accomplishment?
That would seem to be your accomplishment.
Isn’t it ironic that Obama did so well at the beginning because of white people, as well as Blacks, but now probably won’t be POTUS because it appears that HE is a racist?
Very true. I picked this up in several of his speeches. He'll say 'I believe in free markets and entrepreneurship. They are the basis of our society". Then in the next breath, propose taking profits from companies, adding penalizing tax cuts that will stifle economic growth, and layers of new regulation and bureaucracy.
Seems the "typical white person" is afraid of blacks.
I would discern that if you listened to Rush for 20 years, you would most likely agree with a great many things he said. That is the accusation, plain and simple. Obama chose this man’s church and felt this man would be a positive spiritual advisor. Also Obama’s entire agenda - both foreign and domestic - are supported by the screed coming out of his spiritual mentor’s mouth. America, the hated. Big government solutions. Evil corporations run by powerful white men.
Obama’s judgment and life views are very troubling to me and to many, many voters. When he associates with the Black Panthers, corrupt Chicago politicians and a spiritual adviser that says those things, I simply think he is of poor character and judgment.
Too ornate. Barry O’s throne is made of wood, and there’s a hole cut in the door that resembles his true religious upbringing!
That title is racist!!!!
Oh, but didn’t you hear? The words ‘of his grandmother’s generation’ was implied!!!! Uh huh.
