MOLINE -- People from a wide variety of ethnic and religious backgrounds came together Wednesday for a service observing the fifth anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
The Interfaith Prayer Service, sponsored by Pax Christi and Progressive Action for the Common Good (PACG), was designed to unite the community through prayer and reflection. Readings and prayers given at the service represented the Muslim, Jewish and Hindu faiths, as well as Catholics, Unitarians and other denominations of Christian faith traditions.
"It's up to the people who are presenting to determine what they will offer," said Lisa Killinger, outreach coordinator of the local Muslim community. "But they've all been assigned to bring a verse that reflects on peace and justice."

I'd like to hear/read the verse regarding "peace and justice" that was chosen from the Koran. Too bad it only applies to Muslims, not Infidels. Also, check out the photos in the link provided. Nothing scarier than a caucasian convert, IMO.

BTW, this article is front page headline news in my local paper, The Rock Island Argus. Matter of fact, every single pro-Islam article posted in this paper ‘somehow’ ends up on top of the front page. Go figure.

Maybe they’re trying to show how “open-minded” the Quad Cities are...

Nothing more than a thinly-veiled anti-war, anti-Bush Administration bitchfest, that's all.
I live in the Quad-City area, and I see enough of them. I see the peaceniks gathered every Saturday morning at the intersection near the mall in Moline. One quick look at the malnourished, aging hippies with the grey ponytails and the ugly, skanky women holding signs full of lies and hatred tells me all I need to know about them.

I forgot the sarcasm tag!

I see ‘em on occasion as well. On one particular occasion, I yelled “say hello to Saddam for me!” Pretty lame, I know. Couldn’t think of anything else to say on such short notice. ;-D

I’m surprised the resident imam allowed those Infidels to step foot inside the mosque. Then again, anything to benefit the “peaceful” spread of Islam throughout the world.

I just honk and use a well-known hand gesture.
I always thought it would be a hoot to get a few people together, make up some signs that say stuff like 'So they knocked over some buildings in NY - is that any reason to violate their human rights!!??' or 'Bloodthirsty terorists have feelings too!' and stand a few yards down from them :)

I wonder if Kool-Aid was served at this pro-Islamic lovefest?

Eh, peace is over-rated. The residents of North Korea have known peace for almost half a century. Survivors of Dachau and Treblinka report that camp life was relatively peaceful. Even domesticated livestock know peace.
How come nobody marches for freedom?

Excellent point, Skibane! IMO, the peaceniks in our country believe that everyone the world over lives similarly as we do. Well, except for the “illegal” wiretapping and “injustices” that minorities, “undocumented immigrants,” and Muslims are subjected to on a daily basis in this rotten, fascist-like state known as the United States of America. Barack Hussein Obama will set things right!
