Ann's wrong about the segregation thing, though. A lot of African-Americans who were around before 1965 still rankle about living in a country where segregation existed. The fact that a person might not personally have gone to segregated schools doesn't affect that.
Segregated schools and washrooms and water-fountains in another part of the country were symbols that people reacted to strongly, even if they didn't experience them personally.
Tell them to get over it.
I was denied a few job opportunities because of the color of my skin back in the 1970s.
That is so despite the fact that I grew up in neighborhoods where I was the minority. I don't care if anyone believes that to be so or not.
I simply think that this business of accusing all white folks of being racist is simply a tactic of left wing radicals who are patently dishonest about the nature of this country as things currently stand.
