The headline from MIRS, Michigan's Hotline:
Ding-Dong, Do-Over Primary Is Dead
"Time of death for the do-over Michigan primary? Call it at about 11 a.m. today."
A Lansing insider IMs to explain the latest development:
The Senate Dems just had a long caucus meeting following their long phone call with the Gang of Four [as Carl Levin and others pushing a re-vote are called], and the result is that no one moved. Votes aren't there. Thus, it will not go to a vote in the Senate. And barring some other last minute miracle that doesn't involve those four, the governor and Hillary traveling to Michigan, it is dead as a doornail.
UPDATE: State Sen. Tupac Hunter, an Obama supporter, confirms the outcome of today's meeting.
"The caucus has expressed again today that there is concern about the proposal and a great deal of unreadiness," he said, saying that sentiment is still "overwhelming."
"We informed the four great Democrats who have worked very hard to come up with a solution," he said. "Its one of those things where you can agree to disagree. The question then becomes, What do we do now?"
Hussein thought he could convince a vast number of ill informed voters he was something he was not. Look at how many people knew nothing about him but were mesmerized to the point of following him anywhere.
The dnc knows they have a loser in hussein if they leave if to the convention to decide the nominee apart from the national riots. This thing has to be determined before then. Hillary will win big in PA, get some kind of boost from MI and FL. Super delegates will then begin to line up with hillary and that will sink hussein....
I didn't know there were any "great rats" let alone four of them....
LOL at you giving dems that much credit? I don’t think so.
She may very well win Pa big, but it wont be enough, and NC will go to Obama no matter what polls say. Polls also had Hillary up only 3 right before SC.
She went to fight for a revote in MI and FL because she knows she needs those delegates or at least the popular vote, and it looks like it wont be happening.
obama’s race speech was for liberal activist superdelegates. dont select me and youre racist, we help end racism!!111
Obama up 3 in SC**
“The next primary is April 22 so that leaves plenty of time for this Pastor Wright thing to go away.”
The Libs seem to have lvoed his speech.
I say we let that issue lie for a while, let Obama get the nomination, then bring it up again.
Killing Obama’s nomination now would only lead to a more formidable candidate in the fall.
“If Mac is beating HRC and BHO by 6-8 points now (latest Zogby), what’s this going to look like after a contentious convention and folks really take a long hard look at whom they’re going to trust with the POTUS vote?”
If that’s where we are at right now, lets not get in the way while the Dems commit Hari Kari ... LET’S FOCUS ON THE HOUSE AND SENATE, THAT’S WHERE WE NEED THE HELP TO WIN!
If you are correct about that, the new ‘chaos strategy should be for the Republicans to vote Obama.
Then the superdelegates would have to completely override the primaries to put Hillary in there.
Technically, the pledged delegates can vote for whomever they want on the first ballot. By disqualifying Michigan and Florida, the DNC overreacted. Only the diehard Democrats will vote the Democratic nominee in those States. The rest of those States' voters will punish the D's for not letting them have a say in the DNC's nomination process.
He was up 8 points in South Carolina a week ago.
Agree 100%.
This guy is finished, do not waste your talent doing graphics about him (this was is very funny by the way). Please focus now on the evil one, she is the nominee.
I totally agree. We can beat Obama easily.
Imagine 4 to 8 of the Clintons again. Insanity to the nth degree. Imagine 4 to 8 years of America surrendering to the terrorists, America paying more taxes, America going socialists, ultra left wing judges changing our way of life and America having much less freedom.
You have a very good point there. Another person told me the same thing, he said that Obama in his speech trapped a lot of Super Delegates to vote for him because as he said as you did, that if you do not vote for me you are a racist.
There is a myth that Bill Clinton was a popular President. That is not true if one measures popularity by a majority of popular vote in Presidential elections of Bill Clinton which never achieved. Your thesis is, as I take that Hillary is as popular a candidate as her husband and popular enough to win the Presidency. Since Bill Clinton never won a majority of the popular vote, I have no reason to believe Hillary will. The chances of winning the Presidency without a majority of the popular vote is slim, given 2008 election dynamics . To think Hillary has more popular vote drawing power than her husband is a leap of faith that Hillary does not deserve. I do not like the RINO relic and Keating Five Guy well enough to vote for him. But as I have stated on many threads, McCain can beat Hillary without my vote since I reside in a very blue socialist state. McCain will probably need Rush's vote and every vote he can get in Florida, because I doubt if a Republican can win without Florida.
Ohio and Arkansas will go Hillary Clinton this year and it is all over.
After the primary in Ohio in which Hillary won on the Democrat side, McCain's poll numbers increased in the state to the point where he led by 5 points.
I have no proof. But, I know McCain would have never gone at Rev. Wright or allowed it. This stuff was all covered by Hannity almost a year ago.. and it died right there. What brought it back up was the posting of anonymous UTube videos of Rev. Wright ranting.
Even though it hasn't been traced, you know this came from the Clinton campaign. They would have never done this except they truly are going to the mattresses.
They believe like you do that they can win against McCain if they can get the Super Delegates to vote for her at the Convention but that isn't possible unless Senator Obama is totally destroyed as a viable candidate.
This implosion would not have occurred without Clinton having a "shot."
On the flip side, Senator Obama has not gone to the mattresses yet and he must. The nomination is now his to lose and he has to do the same as Hillary. Deliver a knock out blow that makes it impossible for the Super Delegates to shift against the popular vote. He also has to change the subject. Hillary has been completely happy to let Rush and company carry the water on this.. but ultimately, unless Obama is willing to cut and run and accept the end of his political career, he will respond by dumping more explicitly Hillary's dirty underwear into a MSM that is happy all of the sudden to show it.
