The headline from MIRS, Michigan's Hotline:
Ding-Dong, Do-Over Primary Is Dead
"Time of death for the do-over Michigan primary? Call it at about 11 a.m. today."
A Lansing insider IMs to explain the latest development:
The Senate Dems just had a long caucus meeting following their long phone call with the Gang of Four [as Carl Levin and others pushing a re-vote are called], and the result is that no one moved. Votes aren't there. Thus, it will not go to a vote in the Senate. And barring some other last minute miracle that doesn't involve those four, the governor and Hillary traveling to Michigan, it is dead as a doornail.
UPDATE: State Sen. Tupac Hunter, an Obama supporter, confirms the outcome of today's meeting.
"The caucus has expressed again today that there is concern about the proposal and a great deal of unreadiness," he said, saying that sentiment is still "overwhelming."
"We informed the four great Democrats who have worked very hard to come up with a solution," he said. "Its one of those things where you can agree to disagree. The question then becomes, What do we do now?"
You are correct...now, add Sean-Wanna-Be-Rush-When-Grow-Up-Hannity to this list.
Let me guess... Savage listener?
Good, let’s finally bury Her Royal Thighness, and take on the Black Panther Party nominee Obama.
McCain freaks out in debate with Obama and goes on a racist tirade:

I've been thinking that for a while, but here is another scenario -
In a situation where neither candidate has enough delegates to win on the first round of voting, the DNC could decide to seat the Florida and Michigan delegations in the event of a second round.
As far as the dems are concerned it would be nothing but a group of one legged men at an ass kicking contest.
You f***ed up!
No, you f***ed up!
No, YOU f***ed up!
No, YOU f***ed up!
IOW, a lot of very important people in the DNC, the various states, and in the democrat party would have to admit that they made a colossal blunder. - Never going to happen
If neither wins on the first vote, can’t delegates just vote for anyone they choose? Just in the days before primaries.
Wonder who the Dem insiders would pick?
maybe in the GE but dems and superdelegates likely dont care. no way do they give the nomination to hillary and risk riots/shutting down their black base.
Hear hear! IMO, Hillary is unbeatable by any republican.
You, I, and two poodles could beat Obama. - put another way,
if the GOP cannot beat Obama then it had best pack up and leave Dodge, because it cannot defeat anyone at all
This may be bad for Hillary, but I think it’s worse for Dems in general. With no do-over, there’s really no chance to put this behind them before the Convention. A do-over may not have satisfied everyone, but this festering sore won’t satisfy anyone.
Well, it satisfies me.
I wonder about that. This is the kind of thing that really changes a person's perception of the candidate. Look at the sharp drop in today's polls. The six or eight (or whatever) percent of people who saw that and said "I just can't vote for a guy who's associated with a hate group like that." They're not coming back.
This is really bad for the D's. If Mac is beating HRC and BHO by 6-8 points now (latest Zogby), what's this going to look like after a contentious convention and folks really take a long hard look at whom they're going to trust with the POTUS vote?
They are very likely to do exactly that.
They can be at least minimally comfortable with the assurance that most of the black vote will certainly vote dem until they are replaced with the Hispanic voters.
And that is what is happening right now.
gore?
no way do dims take away the nomination from the first “black” presidential candidate imo. that would make hillary just as unelectable as obama seems right now.
Hillary ain’t dead yet. Obama’s Uncle Jeremiah Wright’s video gave a Clinton a gift they have rarely had. Thanks to Jeremiah Wright, Hillary has the moral high ground, something a Clinton may not know what to do with, or capable of holding on to for very long.

We shall see what transpires very shortly after Pa/NC.
IMO, no Clinton ever goes into the shadows willingly, but I could be wrong about that, I suppose.
LOL
