"What about our people? Males 17-45 and all that..."

There's some irony in the fact the Supreme Court was discussing this very topic just yesterday.

A crowd of one gathered on the sidewalk outside the Armed Forces Recruiting Center in North Modesto, CA this morning. The crowd was seen carrying two signs - “Land of the Free Because of the Brave” and “Honor Our Troops” along with a small American Flag.

Marvelous report. You rock!

Please tell the “crowd of one” that this Vet thanks him. {wink}

My Grandchildren live in a rural area, they hung 25 American flags across their front fence with red, white and blue streamers. They made red, white and blue armbands and also wore them. They are also Homeschooled. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

[With all that is going on in America right now; this election, the ecnomy, and now this, does anyone else think that we are on the verge of something disasterous in America? Short of it, I feel something VERY bad is on the horizon!]

That seems to be the perception that is being orchestrated.  I think we need to keep things in perspective.

I remember when my dad, a cop, came home to get his personal shotgun during the riots in '68.  The nation was on the verge of violent revolution.  Cops were being murdered by car-bombs.  Various terrorist groups were violently active in the U.S.

I don't think the current situation comes close to comparing to '68 - though there are certainly those who'd like us to think Armageddon is on the horizon.

Fear sells.  Don't buy it.

This is still America and we'll figure it out.  That's what Americans do.  Can Do.

ABOUT THE PLANNED ACTIONS IN PHILADELPHIA:

I was just checking up on that. I’m not seeing anything on the news (Besides that military recruitment is still high in the city, lol).

The group updated their website with a “shout-out” to the Vast Right Wing - I suppose that’s us, lol - the other day, that I just noticed now.

I’ll be writing up something for my blog in a bit, and I’ll post here when I’m done. :)

Thanks for giving us that perspective. I wasn’t around back then so obviously have no memory. It’s nice to hear from others who do remember and can do that. It’s easy to worry a bit too much and not see that it’s infinitely better now than it was then... even with everything that is going on...

Amen to your comment that this is not ‘68 and we will figure it out.

This is VERY different from 1968. This time its those who support our country who are standing up and speaking out - US. Wrote an article on it published in Breaking Christian News last month (www.breakingchristiannews.com) called “Silent Majority, Silent No Longer”

The more Americans I meet actively supporting our troops, the more hope I have for America.

God bless America. God bless our troops and God bless those who support them.

Do you want only those that aren’t sabotaged? The New Jersey one that the kid found out about and averted an attack by notifying his boss about the DVD?

After seeing the videos of a black preacher, and hearing some of the callers to Rush, We may have a race war on our hands. Plus, seeing on another thread the Mexican flags with 'Fear Me' around Houston, it may be both minorities against whites, or against each other.

Wouldn't the jihadists love for someone else to do what they have not been able to do?

Nail, meet hammer.

BTW, the single greatest difference is places and people like FR.

God bless all of you.

Good question. That’s why I’m voting McCain: because he’s most likely to stay the course. I prefer to be ALIVE to complain about the economy.

I find it a bit suspicious that LAST week, a majority of Americans - slim, yes, but A MAJORITY of Americans, believe we can and should win the war in Iraq. Today 2/3 don’t thin it was worth the effort? We’re being flimflammed, as usual.

Well, we could do a nice big counter protest and drum up that “militia” the USSC is discussing to go protect the military. <-— and isn’t the thought of the Pajama Patrol protecting the US military a hoot?

“<-— and isn’t the thought of the Pajama Patrol protecting the US military a hoot?”

Too funny... If you think about it though — the first ones to notice what was up back in the 1770s were those “Minute-Men” and I’ll bet a fair bit of them had their pajamas on under their clothes, too! After all, they were woken up in the middle of the night by Paul Revere! LOL ;)
