> They've got ALL that going for them - looks, brains, class - and they chose prostitution as a career. Right.

It's sort of like the "Asia Carrera" model. In addition to being a stunning beauty (German and Japanese parents), Carrera was a genuine prodigy:

She studied piano as a child, and performed at Carnegie Hall twice before the age of 15. By 16 she taught English at Tsuruga College in Japan. When she was 17, she ran away from home because she felt her parents put too much pressure on her to succeed academically.

She won a full academic scholarship to Rutgers University and is a member of Mensa.

As a runaway, she lived on the streets for a while (says that she didn't turn tricks), and became a porn star legend.

She was at the top of that business for a decade. She also was a "nerd" who ran her own website with very high standards. She since married, retired, has a couple of young kids, and is quite normal, all things considered.

The law is an ass.

Pay a woman for sex, it's illegal.

Pay a woman for sex while a camera is running, it's legal.

Sadly, after she settled down, married, had a child, and was pregnant with number two, her husband was killed in a car accident. She actually delivered her baby herself at home. I read her blog sometimes; I like her (now. I'm not a porn fan).
