Six years ago, I was inspired to become an opinion columnist so I could attempt to give a different perspective on current events. Six years later, while watching Monday morning’s Good Morning America segment with Democrat operative Donna Brazille and NPR’s Juan Williams, I see there is still a lot to do, especially when countering the leftist representation of Black opinion in the United States.
Sure, while 90-95% of Blacks vote Democrat, it is because of the inaccurate repetitions conducted daily by the mainstream media and those they ALLOW to speak for Black America.
Over the weekend, in response to the media firestorm created by past speeches of Barack Obama’s “former” pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, his church released a statement that unfortunately fell back on the old victimology playbook.
"We have listened and watched as the wonderful work of our church has been vilified this week," he told about 3,000 congregants on Palm Sunday morning. "This week should be special for us because I guess we know a little something about crucifixion." – Otis Moss III, the current pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ
The real “crucifixion” is being perpetrated by the Wright/Moss-Brazille-Williams-Smiley-Jackson-Sharpton-Media Matters-Think Progressive-Bill Maher-Air America-Daily Kos-Democracy Now!-college professoriate cabal that continues to distort Black American history to meet a liberal, victim strategy that keeps Blacks voting Democrat. It’s as simple as that.
So to make my point (and I’m warning the liberal media at the onset), I will take a look at one of Reverend Wright’s more “fiery” sermon segments. I know he’s a learned scholar, and I may be out of my league, but it’s my column and I’ll write about any topic I wish, so here goes….
WRIGHT: Jesus was a poor black man who lived in a country and who lived in a culture, that was controlled by rich white people! The Romans were rich. The Romans were Italians, which means they were European, which means they were white -- and the Romans ran everything in Jesus' country. It just came to me within the past few weeks, y'all, why so many folk are hatin' on Barack Obama. He doesn't fit the model!
Obviously the whole bit about Jesus being a poor black man controlled by rich white people is an analogy. But by implying that’s why “so many folk are hatin’ on Barack Obama”, Wright is implying that he is some Jesus-like figure.
Obama may be a phenomenon, but to tell thousands of people he is comparable to Jesus is just plain irresponsible.
Then again, if a political objective is the goal, who in their right mind would vote against Jesus?
WRIGHT: Hillary never had to worry about being pulled over in her car as a black man driving in the wrong! I am sick of Negroes who just do not get it!
It’s unfortunate that many are pulled over for DWB (driving while Black). However, I’ve always said if Black people for one day decided not to commit crime, and that one-day became two, and those two days became a week, the police would have to look elsewhere to do their jobs. It’s sad that the Reverend Wright couldn’t have spent that time to implore Blacks to do the correct thing and behave ourselves.
We ARE capable. However, a Black person asking such is always vilified nowadays for expecting such. As victimology is so ingrained in the Black community, there is always a reason for us to rob banks and shoot female college students in the head. It’s always easier for people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to skewer old white talk radio hosts than to publicly admonish young thugs whose very actions justify the police concentrating on us first.
WRIGHT: Hillary was not a black boy raised in a single parent home! Barack was. Barack knows what it means to be a black man living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people! Hillary can never know that! Hillary ain't never been called a nigger! Hillary has never had her people defined as nonpersons!
Barack Obama was raised in a single parent home because his father, for whatever reason, did what (statistically) most Black men do: leave. The Reverend Wright should have spent some time admonishing that majority of Black men who abandon their offspring, leaving the burden of raising them on a mother who single-handedly has to counter the machismo, sexist influences liberal pop culture perpetuates and justifies.
Barack Obama knows what it means to be a Black man living in a country and culture that is controlled by rich white people. Barack Obama is also potentially just a few short months away from becoming the most powerful Black man in the world, in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people.
True, Hillary Clinton can never know what it’s like to be Black. She’ll never know what it’s like to be called a nigger. However, Barack Obama will hopefully never know what it’s like to look like a fool in front of the whole world for years. I think that’s a fair trade off.
WRIGHT: Hillary ain't had to work twice as hard just to get accepted by the rich white folk who run everything, or to get a passing grade when you know you are smarter than their C-students sitting in the White House. Hillary ain't never had her own people say she wasn't white enough!
If Barack Obama had to go through all of those things, then we must address the liberal environments he grew up in. Whether it was his prep school in Hawaii, or at Harvard, he’s spent most of his life around the tolerant, inclusive progressives we hear so much about.
In order to be ALLOWED to speak from the media pulpit, Blacks must say what they are expected to say. I received thousands of emails after my post-Katrina appearance on CNN, but because I didn’t agree with Kanye West, bash the president, and justify Black looting in New Orleans, I will probably never be invited on again. And I’m called a puppet….
So as long as you call President Bush stupid, you can sit at the front of the liberal bus, while conveniently ignoring the fact that Blacks who are ALLOWED to speak on the major news networks perpetuate the atmosphere that allows Reverend Wright to call our nation the “US of KKK-A”. While most Blacks staunchly vote Democrat, has Wright or Donna Brazille or Juan Williams ever told Black America just who created the Ku Klux Klan?
Have anyone appearing on the mainstream media broadcast recently explained that it was the Democrat Party that created the Klan to stop Blacks (who were all Republicans because Democrats wanted nothing to do with us outside of our free labor) from voting?
No, because ignorance is power and this shows just what liberals really think of Black people. Just keep them ignorant of their own history so they can be used every two and four years.
WRIGHT: Hillary is married to Bill and Bill have been good to us? No, he ain't! Bill did us just like he did Monica Lewinsky! He was riding dirty!
Nice words to be spoken from a pulpit about the (liberally-anointed) First Black President.
WRIGHT: The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law, and then wants us to sing God bless America?
Again, where is Reverend Wright using his pulpit to scold those who ignore their sense of right and wrong? Liberals tend to believe that Blacks are less capable of knowing this than a common household pet that you can train to do their business outside. No one is forcing Black people to do buy crack. No one is forcing Black people to commit that third strike so they can receive three squares for life in those bigger prisons. One would think it would be Reverend Wright’s responsibility to remind Black people that thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not commit adultery, and thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. You know, the easy stuff.
WRIGHT: No, no, no! Not God bless America! God damn America! It's in the Bible -- for killing innocent people! God damn America for treating her citizens as less than human!
Can Reverend Wright show me where in the Bible it’s written, “God damn America” for killing innocent people?
While it wasn’t right, America is not the only nation that’s killed innocent people. Unfortunately, this happens in dozens of nations every day, to this day. Maybe one day, someone of Reverend Wright’s stature and reach, will remind Blacks that because of the Republican Party they are taught to hate, the United States of America joined the community of nations that formerly outlawed the practice of enslaving Black people.
It was the Republican Party that gave Blacks the right to vote, citizenship, and full civil rights, before the Democrat Party stripped us of them, only to be given credit for their restoration almost a century later. To this day, it is the Republican Party that is doing all they can to stop the current Black genocide that is liberal-sponsored abortion that kills approximately 1,300 Black babies a day.
WRIGHT: We bombed Hiroshima! We bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye.
And using the only decisive weapon at our disposal, the United States of America stopped World War II in three days. Opponents, who would have continued their deadly annexing of weaker nations for months, laid down their arms, were later rebuilt by the evil United States, and are our peaceful allies today.
WRIGHT: We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians, and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back into our own front yards! America's chickens are coming home... to roost.
As we all know, there are two sides to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But if you want to be recognized by the progressives who control academia and the media, Israel bashing is the ticket.
If America’s chickens are coming home to roost, then the left is ALLOWING the Reverend Wright to be its rooster. If he were sermonizing an opposite message, he would not be ALLOWED to have the personally-lucrative bully pulpit he enjoys today.
It’s painfully apparent why Michelle Obama is only now proud to be an American. Twenty-plus years of Reverend Wright’s sermons would make anyone hate this nation. But let’s not allow hypocrisy to dominate here.
If America was so evil and racist, Barack and Michelle Obama would not be living as well as they enjoy today. If America was so evil and racist, the Reverend Wright would not be living as well as he enjoys today. If America was so evil and racist, Donna Brazille and Juan Williams would not be ALLOWED the freedom of speech to continue the intentional distortion of an entire people’s history on a daily basis, as has been done by many before them for decades.
It pays to get it wrong. Hopefully one day, they’ll get it right.

We the people believe in the Separation of Church and State. So when pastors, priests, rabbi’s or imams seem fit to preach their politics instead of religious gospel, its the IRS that should be the ones overturning the tables in their temples.

All Bob’s great points go for everyone of every race. If everyone would take responsability for themselves there would be no liberals/communists.
Once a pastor/reverend/rabbi starts talking politics from the pulpit, he loses said title. Nowhere in any of this political talk(and that’s exactly what it is, it is NOT a sermon) have I read anything remotely Christian. Where’s the golden rule, “love thy neighbor”, or H-E-double-hockeysticks, civil language?
