Alex Hailey, the (black) author of “Roots”, said that (and I freely paraphrase) - every time they saw a famine in Africa on the TV, American descendants of slaves should kiss the Confederate flag and give thanks that their ancestors were so enslaved.
Well,Haley was really misinformed then.
Pre-colonial African societies were quite varied, ranging from tribal villages to complex nation states like Kongo,Mali,Ghana and the Asante nation. Some were cruel and barbaric, others were literate and highly skilled at fine arts and agriculture.
No one had the right to wrench them away from home to the New World. Its like saying the Communists had the betterment of the Kulaks in mind when they collectivized farms in the Ukraine.
You can always find crazy black people out there who hate themselves and their people.Hell, everytime I hear one black man call another the N word,I know he thinks very little about himself.
