The choir won't stand still at Trinity United Church of Christ, which Barack Obama has attended for 20 years. In dashikis and outfits of variegated patterns and colorsblack stripes, radiant yellows and purples, networks of green and pink150 singers are clapping, swaying in unison, and singing, "The Lord is blessing me, right now, oh, right now."
Congregants in the packed double-decker auditorium are themselves clapping, swaying, and singing, barely noticing the woman in a black suit who has volunteered to step-dance backwards down the aisle. "He woke me up this morning, He started me on my way . . ."

I have never heard of any Luthern Church blowing Alpine Horns, or ringing cowbells....wonder if he is talking about Bell Choirs.
The United Church of Christ last month did begin a struggle with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which informed the UCC that the denomination’s tax exempt status is under review, and that the agency is examining a speech Obama gave before the UCC’s General Synod in June 2007.

There are thousands of black churches that focus on serving their community with the grace and mercy of the Lord, but they don't preach an Afro-centric gospel. They preach a Christ-centered gospel.
In Dallas, where I used to live, are two of the greatest black preachers in the brotherhood - Bishop T.D. Jakes and Dr. Tony Evans.
I know you are right, and I am United Methodist, and once my church had a black pastor from Nigeria, the congregation of the Church was mainly white, and the Pastor from Nigeria spoke the word of God...no political speeches were given.
Reverand John Thomas and his vision of German Church of Christ congregations
“Trinity's black-centeredness has garnered some criticism, but when Thomas took the microphone to congratulate Wright he said, “When I go to Green County, Wis., to our Swiss German congregations, and they come down the aisles ringing cowbells and blowing their alpine horns, no one says it's a problem.” “
They are civilized people in Wisconsin. They are not trying to imitate primitive tribes in Africa.
Not just the preaching of Anti-American Sentiment, but Hate period, and Politics, and swearing.
I've heard him on the radio a few times. You're right, he's good.
REal nice (sarcasm off)
“In talking points listed on Trinity’s website, Wright states, “The vision statement of Trinity United Church of Christ is based upon the systematized liberation theology that started in 1969 with the publication of Dr. James Cone’s book Black Power and Black Theology.” Cone argued in his 1970 work, A Black Theology of Liberation, that “the goal of black theology is the destruction of everything white, so that blacks can be liberated from alien gods.” Cone rejected the “God of white seminaries” as a racist construction and argued that “God’s identity is revealed in the black struggle for freedom.” Obama may need to disavow his church’s view of race just as he disavowed Farrakhan’s viewpoint.”
I think if a Swiss German congregation was playing Alpine horns and Cowbells in church and preaching hate against their African American Brethern we would of heard of it by now.
No, he’s just plain lying while trying to ridicule the WHITE congregation.
You're right too - there are Christ-centered black Church's at focus on Jesus. Not a "social gospel" nonsense or pan-African Marxism.
It is a shame, but I am glad the wolves in sheep's clothing churches are being exposed. I also notice they are uncomfortable with the light. I guess Christ's words in Chapter 3 of John are apropos.
What? No cheeseheads??
Yes, much as the Klan's "white-centeredness" has garnered some criticism, and for precisely the same reason.
To be fair, President George W. Bush's pastor belongs to a church that sanctions the killing of unborn babies, opposed our government fighting communists in SE Asia and were complicit in the slaughter of millions in the Killing Fields, opposes our attempts to liberate millions in the Middle East from bloodthirsty tyrants and retarded mullahs, is against the Capital Punishment of rapists and murderers, condones homosexuality, wealth redistribution, etc.
P.S. I was a member of that church for over 40 years, but now am a member of the Congregational Methodist Church.
How come I always manage to miss the Good Stuff.
