“You’re either habitually in control of yourself or you’re not.
If you’re not, you have no business governing others.”
I think that’s the best comment I’ve read so far on the matter.
One is tempted to say they have been honest with each other and worked through a tough time - let it be.
But...in one day this “rough patch” has evolved from a vague description - to “several” affairs, and one being with a staffer.
This does indeed reflect a lack of self-control - a lack of respect - abuse of power of office - and lack of morality.
In one day, my respect for a guy who overcame great odds due to his disability - has devolved into “great! another slimeball!”
And our kids are paying attention - they’re getting the message that fidelity isn’t possible in a marriage.
Yep. For people who are supposed to be "all about the children," they surely don't seem to care where they lead them by example.
I'm simmering on some thoughts about the inspiration guys like Spitzer give mixed up young women; creating demand for young girls and the people who expoit them. It'll be a smoking blog post when I get to it. Why not prosecute the purchaser of prostitution? Without them, it wouldn't exist.
