Revote could offer Michigan a final say
Dems question impact of 2nd primary

BLADE POLITICS WRITER

It's not often that people get to vote twice in the same election, but it could happen this year for Michigan Democrats.

**SNIP**

Four prominent Michigan Democrats announced a tentative plan Friday to have a revote primary on June 3, but numerous details remain.

**SNIP**

One essential element, laid down by Michigan Republicans who control the state Senate, is that the party - not Michigan taxpayers - must put up the estimated $10 million to $12 million to pay for the election.

**SNIP**

Ms. Kerr said turnout in a June 3 election could dramatically eclipse prior primary turnouts of 165,000 in 2004 and 600,000 in January.

An election June 3 could attract 1 million or more voters - a huge election for the party to manage on its own.

**SNIP**

Michigan voters wanting to cast ballots in the new primary would have to identify themselves as Democrats and certify that they did not vote in the state's Republican primary in January.

Michigan normally does not require party identification in primary elections.

**SNIP**

"I think there's a long way to go before there's going to be any do-over of any sort, unless Barack Obama and the Republican Party have totally lost their minds," Mr. Ballenger said.

**SNIP**

"The Republicans made no difference. McCain won the nomination despite Michigan, and on the Democratic side all it's done is create a mess. It certainly hasn't made a difference," he said.

There was only one RAT name on the January ballot - Hillary. Since there wasn't a 'sanctioned' RAT primary, how many RATS crossed over and voted in the Republican election?

In all fairness to EVERY Michigan voter, the June 3rd election should be open as well. If RATS can help determine the Republican candidate, Republicans should be able to pick the RAT candidate.

Exactly. I voted for Romney in the Michigan primary. I watched as the worker wrote an “R” next to my name. I know Democrats who voted in our primary because they didn’t have a choice in theirs.

Now that the shoes on the other foot I can’t vote!

Hopefully somebody will take this to federal court.

Yes but it’s not about counting every vote, or about fairness. It’s whatever it takes to get Hillary nominated. Everybody knew the score before the primary took place. This is just to change the score, so she wins.

“It’s not often that people get to vote twice in the same election”

That’s not what I hear about Democrats.

After being “FORCED” to vote for Fred Thompson, I feel disenfranchised for not being allowed to vote for MR Obama. I also feel like I have been discriminated against for being forced to take personal time “AGAIN” to make my vote count. For this, I would like public transportation made available to me at no expense.

There has to be some sort of 14th Amendment violation here.

The Michigan GOP went along with this mess only to help the Rats poop in their own bed.

The final outcome of this, the silver lining as it may be, is the realization that if the re-do is a legitimate party expense, why not the Primaries themselves?

Bottom line is the government should not confiscate property from individuals, to pay for private party primary elections at all.

Democrats, Schmemocrats!

I think we ought to hold the Republican Primaries all over again. There would surely be a better and different outcome than the sorry one we are stuck with today!

Certify? What, like sign a statement, similar to the 'pledge of allegiance' that Republican & independent voters in Ohio had to sign in order to vote on a Democrat ballot, and are now being threatened with legal actions and fines for making false statements?

I had to sign and show identification for my GOP ballot.

Surely there is a law in Michigan that says you can’t vote twice in a single election - not just testifying that you didn’t should not be good enough. Any old lawyer should be able to tie this thing up in court long enough to make the whole issue moot.

If Michigan is not paying for any of this and is being paid for use of the machines and the Dems are renting the polling places there is little the courts can do. A political party is in law a private club that makes its own rules. Had the GOP agreed to fund the do over then the records from the Jan vote would be available to cross check, and eliminate double voters. Or Pubbies could vote.

If there is any state or local money being used for anything then a challenge to the rules is in order, and Michigan law should apply. But I think the Clinton mafia is too smart to allow for that.

(RATS to 'certify' they didn't vote in GOP primary)

Should read: Liars to certify that they did not already vote for a liberal rino.

Republicans should register as Democrats for this re-vote and vote for the Beast. That should put her well over the top - Obama and his minions will sulk and maybe decide to sit out this election.

At the very least, the Beast will have to use a lot of resources to get the political slaves to shuffle back on the Democrat Plantation. Who knows, maybe some of the thoughtful blacks will realize what they have become over the last 50 years - a dependable vote resource and nothing else.

Why? What purpose does it serve? And who could you possibley vote for? Both obama and clinton are lower than whale droppings at the bottom of the sea.
