A vicar was in hospital last night after being attacked in his churchyard by two youths in what is being treated as a 'faith hate' crime.
Canon Michael Ainsworth, 57, was kicked and punched in the head as one of the attackers screamed "[edited] priest".
He was left lying on the ground with deep cuts, bruising and two black eyes.

This is a triple tragedy/farce.
1. The attack seems to be a muzzy assualt on British values and traditions - the very ones that brought the perps to the relative paradise of Britain vs. the third-world dump they came from.
2. The core element - disregarding the ‘hate’ angle - is assualt on an unarmed citizen with no ability or recourse to armed defense - nice touch for a nation under attack from within.
3. The ‘Priest’, in all probability, was just another ecumenical apostate mush-bag - IOW, the best friend the muzzies could have.

Not quite. Since the 1960s it’s been the standard term to denote all people originating from the Indian sub-continent - who, of course, can be Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist or indeed Christian as well as Muslim. This usage became customary to distinguish this group from the other main group in the first large postwar influx if immigrants, who were the Afro-Caribbeans. It predates political correctness by several decades.
