Rasmussen – Obama support drops
Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll ^ | Saturday, March 15, 2008 | Rasmussen Poll

Posted on 03/15/2008 11:23:34 AM PDT by GVnana

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton essentially even in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. It’s Obama 46% Clinton 45% (see recent daily results). This reflects an unusually sharp change from yesterday’s results when Obama led by eight points and reached the 50% level of support for the first time. Daily tracking results are collected via nightly telephone surveys and reported on a four-day rolling average basis. Last night’s results were very favorable for Clinton and it remains to be seen whether this marks a lasting change in the race or is merely statistical noise. Single night results are based upon very small samples and are more volatile than the overall tracking poll.

Looking to November, John McCain now holds a slight lead over both Democrats in the General Election. It’s McCain 47% Obama 42% and McCain 46% Clinton 42% (see recent daily results). It appears that Clinton’s challenges to Obama may be helping McCain at least in the short-term. McCain’s polling numbers against Obama began improving during the run-up to the hard-fought Democratic Primaries in Ohio and Texas. Obama has a three-percentage point edge over McCain among unaffiliated voters but is currently supported by just 65% of Democrats. By way of comparison, McCain earns the vote from 80% of Republicans.

I must admit, its beginning to look like the Dims might yet snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, again.

You actually got your liberal connections to talk about the good Reverend Wright?!?

Every time I try to bring him up with my liberal cohorts, they quickly change the subject.

One thing you have to realize is that I realized what you now realize way before your realization was a reality.

The other thing the educational establishment has excelled in is drilling pupils in racial grievance & identity politics. This entire mess is going to radicalize a huge percentage of the black voting block against the Clintons.

I think the vast majority of blacks will hold it against the Clintons.

Wish I knew what I could do to reinforce that. I like that Dick Morris is saying that if Hillary wins it it will be because she stole it. We need all the Dems to associate a Clinton nomination with a stolen nomination. That will keep half of the Dems home, will encourage twice as many Repubs to go vote, and McCain will squeak out a win and stop the Beast.

not random events, but 'man'-made and campaign-made. Once past all the conventions, I'm expecting a steady, periodic, perhaps-weekly barrage of made-for-MSM attacks by the Hillary! gang against McCain, while the McCainians have little in the way of return volleys

We ain't seen nothin' yet. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out, but nobody can beat the Clintons for character assassinations. Perhaps it's best that Republicans don't meet them on their own turf.

FR opinions change on whose the more easier to beat Dem than a premenstrual symptom schizophrenic women. ;-)

Your synopsis can be considered one to be derived from the wishy washy, finger in the wind, politics before country mindset of liberal politicians.

Neither Clinton OR Obama can be considered exempt from this fact.

I take it as a great sitcom to watch and enjoy. ; )

{we don't have to do it in the general and get the “bigot” sign hung around our necks for the next 40 years}

I agree with you. If conservatives try to bring Rev. Wright up in the Fall, the media will run endless stories of how conservative groups and Talk Radio are “insensitive” and support policies that harm minorities.

Rev. Wright's sentiments are not uncommon in the Black Community. If any Freeper decides to start a conservation with a Black colleague about Rev. Wright, the response you'll get is “You just don't know what its like to be Black.”

You're both right. In a way. In conservative circles, Obama's church affiliation and their support of Louis Farrakhan was controversial.

It was ABC news that broadcast the "God Damn America" sermon. That was the big wake-up call.

All this indignant speculation and prognostication....

There are still 9 months to go people. The MSM has not even begun to spin the general election yet.

Obama will wiggle out of this one like he has all the other so called torpedoes that were supposed to sink him overnight. Remember the Gay Limo/drug encounter? that one didn’t even make it to the end of the week, and it came out on a Friday.

The general public still has no clue what has happened or who Jeremiah Wright is, nor do they care. What they see is $4.00 gasoline, blamed on a Republican administration, food prices shooting through the Supermarket roof, and large businesses starting to fail in the aftermath of a Biblical Stock Market crash. (Oh, and also 80 Billion $ a year spent in Iraq) And for them, they remember McCain’s promise that out troops are staying put at the going rate.

Surely, many here are getting over zealous with speculation, morphed into a false sense of reality.

The writing is on the wall.Obama will sink fast and Hillary will take the nomination.
Then the real fun begins.Watch the liberal media launch a full frontal assault on Mc Cain and shred him to pieces.
That, along with his lukewarm support from us conservatives, means the Queen B will be in the White House in 2009.
Any other possible scenarios that you see?

I have postulated that if the Dems conclude that neither Hillary nor Obama can win they'd prefer to have Obama run precisely so they could, immediately after losing, engage in the process of changing his middle name from Hussein to “Defeatedbybigotedrepublicans”.

If the press would actually report that Hillary is going to be under oath in August, it might help.

"and in many ways they are currently doing their best to lose it."

But never underestimate the GOP ability to out do the RATS in this area. If there is a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in an election, Republicans can probably find it.

That would be possible only if McCain campaigned against Obama. Do you really think he can or will?
