The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton essentially even in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Its Obama 46% Clinton 45% (see recent daily results). This reflects an unusually sharp change from yesterdays results when Obama led by eight points and reached the 50% level of support for the first time. Daily tracking results are collected via nightly telephone surveys and reported on a four-day rolling average basis. Last nights results were very favorable for Clinton and it remains to be seen whether this marks a lasting change in the race or is merely statistical noise. Single night results are based upon very small samples and are more volatile than the overall tracking poll.
Looking to November, John McCain now holds a slight lead over both Democrats in the General Election. Its McCain 47% Obama 42% and McCain 46% Clinton 42% (see recent daily results). It appears that Clintons challenges to Obama may be helping McCain at least in the short-term. McCains polling numbers against Obama began improving during the run-up to the hard-fought Democratic Primaries in Ohio and Texas. Obama has a three-percentage point edge over McCain among unaffiliated voters but is currently supported by just 65% of Democrats. By way of comparison, McCain earns the vote from 80% of Republicans.

but I hope that its starting to seep into their skulls that neither Dem candidate is fit for the presidency (and thats an understatement).

An understatement for the ages, like calling Katrina a summer breeze. They are both supreme examples of what is wrong with this nation, neither of them is fit to be a janitor in a county tax office. The fact that both are within striking distance of the highest office in the land is illustrative of the complete dumbing down of the American electorate. Collectively we are no longer fit to shine the shoes of the founding fathers.
“Beyond his ability to construct a sentence, I could never see what is there to like.”

So you lack the ability to see what does not exist, that speaks well of you.
HIllary also has about 50% negatives already, more than Obama (even with his crazy uncle).
The only drawback to an Obama nomination is he is still young enough to run again and again until he wins.

So far the Dims don’t like to renominate losers, one squashing is enough, after that they turn to another Marxist to see if they can fool people with a different approach.
Prayers for you.
“Yes, as Ive been saying for the past several years, national politics has become like a race to the bottom, with both major parties seeing how badly they can screw up and offend the voters.”
Kind of sad when you think of the past elections and how they focused on what the country needed to get itself together and how to handle future problems.
—Im not so much voting for McCain as voting AGAINST the Dem candidate.—
Even if McCain wins you’ll still be getting a de facto “dem” anyhow. What’s the diff?
“Even if McCain wins youll still be getting a de facto dem anyhow. Whats the diff?”
Quite a bit of difference, in my estimation. I think that it is a real fallacy to equate a McCain presidency with the utterly scary anti-American, Black-victicrat centric socialism that would dominate an Obama presidency, or with the level of corruption that we all know characterizes a Clinton presidency. McCain does have some liberal views that I don’t like, but calling him a Dem and asking “what is the difference?” between him and his competitors is actually a sign of ignorance of the quite substantial differences, in my opinion. No offense, but that is the way I see it.
—ignorance of the quite substantial differences, in my opinion.—
You mean like “differences” on amnesty for illegal “immigrants.” Oops, none there.
You mean like belief in “global warming/climate change” nonsense that will cost the US economy billions of $$. No difference there, either.
Difference in who they’d pick as SC or federal judges. Considering McVain signed on to the “gang of 14” probably not much of a difference (with 60 or so dems in the Senate after 11/08, forget conservative judges for a while)
“Utterly scary”
McCain’s temperament (or lack thereof) and propensity to be an ill-tempered loose-cannon scares me. I respect the fact he was a POW for 5 1/2 years, but I fear the treatment he received while a guest of “Charlie” did little for his emotional well-being. And he won’t release his medical records (and he’ll be 80 IF he survives his first term).
I guess we’re screwed no matter who becomes POTUS this year.*
*Best case scenario. McCain appoints a REAL conservative
like a Duncan Hunter (though I fear Hunter is a bit of a free trader) and, for whatever reason, doesn’t finish his first term. A bit ghoulish, but this is the best we can hope for.
Frankly, I'd like to hear him talk further about his cheif regret in Congress -- that he didn't try to kill the effort to save Terri Schiavo from being tortuously dehydrated to death.
Yes. I know people are disillusioned about Fred Thompson, but I’d be willing to vote for a sick old man like McCain if Fred was his VP. Or Hunter. Or any REAL conservative whom I can respect.
Otherwise, I won’t vote for any of the candidates. I’ll just vote on the other lines.
How is it that you were given the gift of speaking for all Black people?
but I now begin to think Obama would have been easier to beat in November than Countess Hildabeast.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I think there can be little doubt of that.
the gay story was a fraud.

Maybe so, maybe no, I don’t think a lie detector test means a whole lot. There is a reason why it is not admissible in court.
Cuz it would put a huge amount of lawyers out of work?
We can hope that Rev. Wright’s hatred and racism is “coming home to roost.”
Feel free to use my tagline, no charge. But the way things are going, Barry O’Bama may soon be the answer to a trivia quiz question.
Also this: All burqa and no camels.
Yeah, you don’t have to make your point with me on the immigration, temper, and climate change issues. I disagree on the SC judges, though — I think McCain’s picks could be (probably will be) more conservative.
I still think that NOT voting for McCain is a bad mistake. He’s the best we’ve got now, and all I can do is have faith in my assessment that he will be substantially better than either Obama or Clinton would be. Obama scares the hell out of me — MUCH MUCH MUCH more so than McCain does. And the Clintons? I don’t think I even have to explain Clinton. Seen enough of them to know what evils they’d put us through.
McCain will be strong on Iraq, will be much more under pressure from conservatives than a Dem president would be, and may have Romney as his running mate, which while not Hunter, would still be a good choice in my estimation. Despite the immigrant and global warming issues, I don’t put McCain in even NEARLY the same ballpark as the opponents.
