PORTLAND, Ore. -- A driver backed a car into the studio at Newsradio 750 KXL and then drove away Friday afternoon.
The crash happened at about 1 p.m. at the KXL building on Bancroft Street.
The car involved is described as a white Toyota Corolla with a license plate of 683-RYU.
Portland police are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run.
KPTV.com will update this story as more information becomes available.
FYI PING
BTW, this is a Washington license plate.
I didn’t do it.
We’ll not publish the license plate of the zillion hit and runs we report on each year, unless it hits our building, and dang it, WE’RE going to find out who this cat is!
And now breaking news:
“We are breaking!”
You’ve just given a description of the Mayor.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
If it’s an illegal aien, he’ll own the station before long...
And be alowed to stay here...
NOT /s
Those usually get reported.
This happened while Lars Larson was on the air, but he said it was “not targeted at him.” Not sure why he thinks that. I’d guess it was targeted at him, because the leftist kooks hate him.
He interviewed the gal that works at the front desk, and is going to post the interview on his website (http://www.larslarson.com/).
Everybody else said you did.
It was my evil twin, Skippy!
Maybe just a nut. About 20 years ago someone crashed a car into the lobby of a Seattle radio station. IIRC the motive involved the numerical value of the street address.
Hmmm...maybe it’s the same guy!
Headline has now changed at the original site. It is now “Upset Listener Crashes Into KXL Building”
Updated article:
PORTLAND, Ore. — A disgruntled listener may be responsible for a car that crashed into the Newsradio 750 KXL studio Friday afternoon.
The driver backed the car into the radio building on Bancroft Street at about 1 p.m. and then drove away.
The car involved is described as a white Toyota Corolla with a license plate of 683-RYU.
Portland police are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run.
KPTV.com will update this story when more information becomes available.
The building is shared by a hip-hop FM station under same ownership, and it appears that threats have been made against the FM station, not against KXL or its staff.
I have a theory but will wait for more info.
Ah...that makes sense. Maybe gang activity?
Lars has since referred to threats against the FM station in the same building under same ownership.
