Three used car dealerships are charged with helping illegal immigrants illegally buy cars.
Investigators say then that the salespeople at the dealers, which are on Route 4 in Hamilton, would impersonate deputies to collect payments.
Deputies swarmed into Paul's Auto, Credit Auto Sales and Payless Auto Sales around noon Thursday.
Two of the owners as well as employees and customers were arrested 12-people in all.

No shock seeing that these are most likely “Buy Here Pay Here” lots. The whole premise is a racket to begin with.
Route 4 is just one long used car lot. LOL!
I am Stuned, Shocked. Astounded, that a car dealer could be dishonest. I am so disillusioned. My whole value system is collapsing.
I went to used car dealer in Morristown TN who owned a junk yard with an old Honda Prelude....just like mine. I wanted some parts.
He bought wrecked Saturns and had a shop take two or three and make one. He then sold them on his carlot on pay every week terms to mexicans.
While I was there he took a phone call ordering the pick up of a car bought by a man now 2 weeks behind. Soon after that a mexican came in and pleaded for relief. he was behind, made payment but still behind. He was given a week to catch up or lose his car.
The guy told me with contemmpt he sold the same car sometimes two or three times.
I hope the writer was a blind paraplegic...
I knew somebody in the "business" several years ago. The down payment they charge is usually equal to what they paid for the car wholesale. Then the inflated weekly payments with quick repo guaranteed for anyone more than a week behind. He said it was nothing to sell the same car three times in three months.

This business was invented in Atlanta Georgia, to separate black folk from their tax refund.
Tell me bucco, where is your used car lot?
What terms do you offer? How far behind in the payments do you let your customers be before you pick up the car?
Or are you just preaching to others how they should do things?
Sounds pretty liberal to me.
That’s why there are car dealers — so that people have a place to work to be crooked.
That’s why we never hear about corrupt politicians, lawyers, doctors, pharmacists, or crooked plumbers or TV repairman, or accountants and financial agents stealing from their customers.
There are good and bad dealers just as there is good and bad in every other profession.
Can I buy your car?
How will you price the car? Will you try to get me to pay as much as you can?
Will you allow me to pay over time? I promise I’ll pay you.
Don’t worry if I miss two or three or four payments.
If you don’t like how these deals are done, open your own car lot and be as benevolent and trusting as you want to be.
I thought not, newb.
I’d like to see the cite on that.
If you need to be taught ethics or have an ethics code, you don’t have any and likely won’t ever have any.
How much is too much money for a dealer to make?
Do you how many of the cars disappear without more than a payment or two?
They are dealing with a high risk customer base. If they don’t make money — and lots of it — who else will sell cars to people with bad credit?
I despise the illegal invasion, but if the government doesn’t care about their presence and employers will hire them and grocers will sell them food, then why shouldn’t someone sell them a car?
Ping.
LOL! My comments have nothing to do with WHO buys the car or whether they're legal or not. It has to do with the predatory nature of auto dealerships, especially those who prey on people who are totally unable to make the payments.
In other words, car salesmen are lower than attorneys in my opinion. And no, my new car was purchased with the help of my 720 credit rating. I just happen to know right from wrong.
Because it is illegal for them to drive!!!
You didn’t address the issue that I posed to you.
Even here, you ignore the question.
It’s illegal for them to be here but that doesn’t stop them. The government is trying to make it legal for them to be here. Employers aren’t supposed to hire them, but they do and for the most part, they get away with it, but you want car dealers to be to immigration police? Puh-leeze.
