The founder of the Weather Channel wants to sue Al Gore for fraud, hoping a legal debate will settle the global warming debate once and for all.
John Coleman, who founded the cable network in 1982, suggests suing for fraud proponents of global warming, including Al Gore, and companies that sell carbon credits.
"Is he committing financial fraud? That is the question," Coleman said.
"Since we can't get a debate, I thought perhaps if we had a legal challenge and went into a court of law, where it was our scientists and their scientists, and all the legal proceedings with the discovery and all their documents from both sides and scientific testimony from both sides, we could finally get a good solid debate on the issue," Coleman said. "I'm confident that the advocates of 'no significant effect from carbon dioxide' would win the case."

He’s going up against some well financed mobsters but if he has enough passion he can put up a good fight.

I always wondered who was charging for these carbon credits and what they were doing with that money. I'm torn over this news.
I've developed an internet based carbon credit scam.....er......program that I was hoping to parley into millions.

There is a famous precedent for adjudicating scientific findings--the Scopes "Monkey Trial." He makes a very cogent point, that no media organ or major "university" will allow a true informed open debate on the subject. As with Obama's middle name, the speech Nazis have made a body of informed skeptical information a forbidden utterance.
Furthermore, It is highly likely that such a lawsuit( for financial fraud) could succeed on its merits, as the discovery process would peel back the environmental figleaf from the ugly corruption on an international scale which powers the AGW movement.

I was surprised how many members on a popular weather forum tout global warming.

The founder of the Weather Channel vs. Al Gore.....and Al wouldn't dare debate him.
Who has the greater credibility in this discussion....a life-long weather professional or a politician?
It still amazes me that Al Gore is getting a free pass as he refuses all these offers to debate the subject.

In court, I'm afraid, that stupid strategy, "the issue is settled", ain't gonna cut it.
I can hardly wait.
Can we find an attorney who can file individual amici curiae?
