My favorite liberal’s been haranguing me over e-mail about how prostitution is rarely a choice in any meaningful sense and why we need to crack down to keep more wayward girls from broken homes from wandering into “careers” they don’t really want. KP 1, AP 0?

She said she was considering working at a friend’s restaurant or, once her apartment lease expires, moving back in with her family in New Jersey “to relax.”…
She left “a broken family” at age 17, having been abused, according to the MySpace page, and has used drugs, “been broke and homeless.”

Kristen should not sell herself story so cheap.
Lets lay out some truths here. Ms Dupree likely pulls in $8k per month as a minimum. Figure of the $2600 that Eliot paid...$300 went to the room and at least $800 to the pimp management....so she got her $1500. Figure the taxi and train ride...and she collected $1300 off this trick. My best guess....she does around six to eight of these per month. She probably reports an income of $25k a year to IRS....but thats simply a joke...and IRS will be coming around later to ask about all her money.
As for what she does now? If you all remember our favorite “trick”...Anne Nicole Smith...who was pulling in a dozen odd tricks per month and covering her expensive lifestyle while waiting on the lawsuit to end with her millions to pour in from “daddy”....there is a open market for glamor gals like this and a name. Ms Dupree is going to get a manager and likely find at least 250 guys....of substance or pretended wealth....who want her for a evening and are willing to pay $15k to $20k for it. She will have a significant account by age 30....if she hires the right manager who doesn’t steal half.
No one should have pity for the gal. Her future is pretty set if she doesn’t screw it up.

All true. But people are blaming her for “ruining Eliot Spitzer’s life and career.” He did that himself.
I would, just think $1,000,000 - $100,000 for the trauma therapy and you still net $900,000

Maybe because to many of us prostitution (non-coerced, as in this case) is akin to jaywalking.

$100,000? That’s like 20 one hour clients for her right? And she’ll have to pay taxes on the $100k, so is it really even worth her time? I’m thinking that she’ll have to spend more than 20 hours with the reporter, so you do the math.
Very, very sad, yet totally predicted. These girls have one-in-a-million looks, but almost always were the victims of sexual abuse as children and from broken homes. The later drug use attempts to anesthetize the past and medicate the current situation.
