My family is Sicilian and my thug mom grew up with the Sharp Jews in Houston in the 70s .. she told me stories of how the men behave... very disreputably.
I’m an Israel fan, strange to try to reconcile American Jewry with the Israeli Jewry which I admire.

Best way I can explain it, as a Jew: Outside of the Brooklyn orthodox community (which is somewhat socially conservative), most Jews found their "political identity" under FDR. To a lot of Jews in the Greatest Generation, he was almost the second coming. There was also major Jewish involvement in the early part of the civil rights movement, at least until the 6-Day War. In some ways, I can understand it, but as a Jewish Republican, I can't understand the silly idea that because your Grandfather voted for FDR in 1932, you have to vote for HRC or BHO in 2008?
To me, I feel less threatened by Evangelicals and more by Jihadis. I may be a Jew...but there are times I truly wonder if American Jews have just allowed others to think for them?

My own experience growing up on Lawn Guyland and then finishing my teen years in South Florida is that American chosen people have their positives and negatives, like everyone else. I never understood why folks would whine and b-tch (NOT talking about you here txflake, just acquaitances of mine) about the negatives, when there OWN race/ethnicities had some rather annoying qualities as well.
