Group doubles chances by filing under two names.
A group that has promised a lively street scene of "old hippies," anarchists and others during the Democratic National Convention may have doubled its chances of getting a permit to protest in city parks.
Mark Cohen and his wife, Barbara, organizers for the Recreate 68 Alliance, have filed separate applications under different organizational names.
"I don't see anything unfair about it," Mark Cohen said ...
But Erin Trapp, director of the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs, which is accepting the applications, said the city has told organizations to submit one request per event.
"We are taking them on their word that they're doing that," she said. "We can't police it and won't."
The city, which has received 10 applications for park permits so far, plans to hold a blind lottery to handle competing requests.
Recreate 68 has promised demonstrations that will rival those at the notorious 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago, which was accompanied by street battles between police and anti-Vietnam War demonstrators.
Larry Hales, who applied for a park permit for a group called People's Assembly, said his group is separate from Recreate 68 but that they support each other.

Ah, good ol’ “recreate 68”.
Seriously thinking about sending them the dough I’ve been holding back from the RNC.

I vaguely recall that the Chicago PD kicked the sh** out of the hippies in Chicago.

“Burn, baby, burn.”
The worst of the worst will be at the DNC convention. I sincerely hope the police can contain these filthy communist and fascist pigs so the city isn’t burned to the ground.
We are about to see the face, unmasked, of the democrat party.

"Recreate 68" don't know their history. The Dims came out of Chicago so divided a retread Richard Nixon beat them, despite losing the Deep South to George Wallace.
By all means, less have civil war in the Dim party!

It's been real interesting to watch the animosity ratchet up between the Hillary and Obama camps, considering they're both far lefties with few policy differences. If Hillary wins, blacks will stay home in droves. If Obama wins, a lot of women will likely do the same. The Dims could manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

...y'know, because Denver has no police force. ;')
This tactic is the same as the parallel 527 organization loophole in McCain-Feingold, or (from the "anti-trust" era) interlocking directorships. Thanks george76. I hope those violent jerks do recreate the '68 convention, because if it follows the same pattern, the 2008 election will be a defeat for the Demwits, and the 2012 nominee even less electable.

“...despite losing the Deep South to George Wallace.”
:’) Wallace was a Democrat, and was part of that deep division. Humphrey (besides being a tiresome, waspish-gay-soundin’ public scold) got the VP nod in 1964 by doing Johnson’s bidding at the convention.
