Kristen, the high-priced prostitute described in a federal affidavit as having a Feb. 13 rendezvous with Mr. Spitzer at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington,has spent the last few days in her ninth-floor rental in an upscale apartment building in the Flatiron district. On Monday, she made a brief appearance in federal court as a witness in the case against four people charged with operating the prostitution ring, Emperor’s Club V.I.P. In a series of telephone interviews on Tuesday night, she said she had slept very little over the past week due to the stress from the case.

I know two women who worked as high class call girls during most of their 20s. Both from good (and intact) families, no drug or alcohol abuse, they don’t even smoke. Settled now, married w/kids, very well adjusted, normal boring lives. There’s a huge difference between street hookers and escorts, both in the way the run the business and the way they are treated. Most of the men involved treated them like jewels, not like a person that should be looked down on. It wasn’t their looks, or bodies although they’re nice, not execeptional, it was the power thing someone mentioned above. Being part of an elite group of people, the knowledge that they could *afford* to pay for the company of a lovely woman for the evening. It wasn’t about the looks or bodies of the wives or even the sex life at home.
Funnily enough, one of the questions they got asked the most was about the wierdos and they have to admit that most of the guys, it was just plain vanilla sex. No whips, no costumes, nothing out of the ordinary. They said it was a very interesting time in their lives, they got to go places and do things they might never have gotten to do (no pun intended) and be treated as ladies during. It’s very interesting to talk to them.

There’s total honesty between them. One actually met her H when she was booked as his escort to go to a major fundraiser gala in NYC and his girlfriend had just broken up with him.

I knew a couple once that was going through a tough period. The guy had suddenly decided that he should be upset that his lady wasn’t virgin when they met. She didn’t quite know how to answer him so I suggested she point out to him that it was a good thing one of them knew what to do.

I do feel a bit sorry for all of them, but I doubt they would willingly give up most of the "insane faults" in their lifestyles...at least for any length of time.
Let's see. The IRS goes after waitresses who under-report tips. The tip here would range from a couple hundred to maybe a thousand dollars per client. Some serious untaxed scratch.
5K to spitzer is nothing. His dad is worth over 500 million dollars. Droping 5K is like going to a bar and buying a beer for him.
