The Duke of Westminster: so rich and so very foolish (CNBC suggests he is Client No. 6)
Daily Mail ^ | 12th February 2007 | GEOFFREY LEVY

Posted on 03/12/2008 12:32:35 PM PDT by OESY

Britain's richest man was exposed as a serial user of prostitutes yesterday.

The Duke of Westminster, who is worth £6.6billion and is the country's biggest landowner, paid for four vice-girls in six weeks to visit his mews house in the West End of London.

Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, 55, who is head of the Territorial Army, was said by the News of the World to have openly discussed military matters and Osama Bin Laden.

He declined to comment on the claims, which must inevitably raise questions over his suitability to lead the TA.

Reckless, boastful, stupid, weak - such lacerating words hardly exaggerate the case against the Duke of Westminster.

Bragging to prostitutes that he knew the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden, taking security risks by allowing the mainly East European girls to know exactly who he is - this is a significant figure who should be keeping his mouth closed and commanding respect as head of the Territorial Army, many of whose part time soldiers are on active service in Iraq and Afghanistan, and some of whom have been killed and injured.

Incredibly, the same man was also entrusted by the Prince of Wales with the responsibility of acting as private mentor and guide to Prince William, now an Army officer himself....

I’d like to know who Client #1 is.

Though I have my suspicions.

"Reckless, boastful, stupid, weak - such lacerating words hardly exaggerate the case against the Duke of Westminster."

Actually, would not be an exaggeration if used to describe many of our so-called Leader/Elites.

Hmmm. From that photo, he doesn’t appear to have any interest in girls.

How so? Sounds to me like he knows how to use a rifle AND a gun.

"he knew the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden"

Maybe OBL DOES have inside sources. I've wondered about that!

I would think that the Duke, “couldn’t care less” than he actually does, but whatever.

The Duke of Westminster is worth north of US$230 BILLION.

Not only could he buy CNBC, he could buy NBC Universal, and barely affect his cash flow.

So what exactly is a man worth that much supposed to do?

The Duke of Westminster is worth north of US$230 BILLION.

He is worth about US$12.75 billion.

An enormous amount of money, but a small fraction of what you are claiming.

By Sunday...I’ll bet we know one through 8...and we might be more than a bit shocked. I’ll take a guess that Eliot will be relieved when the other dudes get dragged out in public.

The Grosvenor family was well known in the Middle Ages when it unsuccessfully disputed the right to the coat of arms "Azure a Bend Or" with the more prominent Scrope family (Scrope v Grosvenor 1385 - 1390). In 1677, Sir Thomas Grosvenor married Mary Davies who was heiress of 500 acres (2.0 km²) of rural land on the outskirts of London. As London grew, this property became the source of the family's immense wealth, as it was developed into the fashionable areas of Mayfair and Belgravia, which remains the basis of the family fortune. At least 500 roads, squares and buildings bear their family names and titles, and the names of place and people connected with them, including Grosvenor Square, Belgrave Square, North Audley Street, South Audley Street, and Davies Street. This is now held by a company called Grosvenor Group. The family's main country seat is Eaton Hall, six miles (10 km) outside the City of Chester in Cheshire with a minor seat at Ely Lodge in County Fermanagh. The family also used to own a large townhouse on Park Lane called Grosvenor House and Garden. The Dukedom was the last created for a person who was neither closely linked to the royal family nor already a Duke.
