...One comment, writes Malic, on the bottom of the first page, caught my eye. I reproduce it here, because there is no direct link to it. It is from PaulAndrewKirk of Redmond, Wa.:
I have served two tours in Kosovo with the US Military and I can tell you the following as factual:
1. Almost all facets and levels of the provisional government in Kosovo are corrupt. In fact its the worst Ive ever seen and Ive had to deal with some pretty corrupt governments during my career.
2. Supervised independence or even full independence will not improve the miserable lives of the ordinary people of Kosovo. Partly because of what Ive listed as fact 1″., and partly because it will take decades of immense amounts of foreign aid throughout economy in order to bring Kosovo into a functioning state that wouldnt need foreign assistance for its survival.
3. Ethnic cleansing is still a common occurence in Kosovo but, this time [sic: always been] its the ethnic Albanians ethnically cleansing the Serbs, Roma, Ashkali, Croatians, and Turk minorities through intimidation and at times outright force. I have personally witnessed this on many occasions.

Yeah, I’ve seen it....and?
Sorta makes you long for the good ol’ days when Slobodan Milosevic had the muslims down there under control...
Just thread dressing.
“Sorta makes you long for the good ol days when Slobodan Milosevic had the muslims down there under control...”
LOL....I’m not gonna touch that one.
Hopefully the story is not yet over.

Thanks M. The Mohammedan loving dhimmi Bush Administration will likely try to ruin this fellow. Not a “loyal American”, you know.
Here is one person who gets it...we need lots more.
One needs only look at the map. Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia, Crotia, now Kosovo. Only little Montenegro need be swallowed up to yield a rather large Islamic state. I’ve no doubt our State Department, NATO and the UN will be glad to be of help.
Thanks for a great laugh!!
I honestly think the Balkans are doomed. It was always a hot spot throughout history, but IMHO this is going to go way beyond what the Serbs and Croatians did to each other. What makes it worse is the total lack of unity between the Christian folk in the area. It’s the Muslims against a bunch of divided people. I never agreed with Slobodan Milosevic’s tactics, but I did agree with his point. It’s us or them. Maybe staying together in Yugoslavia wasn’t the worst thing that could happen.
I look at this article’s numbers...so many views, so few posts.....I guess that is the US in a nutshell nowadays. This is a forum, folks. And whether you realize it or not, this is a HUGE issue for our country’s future. Whether you agree with me or not, you should have something to say. It saddens me to see so many of you don’t.
So true, it’s us or them. But in this sad case the them is us. We’re seeing Bill Clinton’s most lasting, and destructive, legacy as well as George Bush’s tragic flaw — he pre-supposed the patriotism of our career diplomats.
