The Secret Double Life of Spitzer's Alleged Hooker Booker
Fresh Intelligence ^ | 03/11/08 | Tyler Gray

Tanya Hollander, the woman charged with arranging prostitutes for the Emperor's Club VIP, appears to have been leading a secret double life as both a hippie-ish holistic healer and a power broker's madam.

Tanya, as the media has been spelling her name, is alleged to have booked girls for New York Governor-for-the-moment Eliot Spitzer.

Meanwhile, Tania, an alias listed in charges unsealed by the U.S. Attorney's office on March 6, appears to have maintained an extensive "health counseling" website (now taken down but cached here) and a MySpace page (last login February 8), where she describes herself as "a grounded, creative, adventurous, and wise spirit," a practitioner of holistic healing in the Manhattan and Hudson Valley area who is "known to get lost in health food stores and wander for several hours."

Also, she's into "tribal fusion bellydance."

MySpace Tania, 36, of Rhinebeck, New York, bears a remarkable physical resemblance to the busted Tanya (also said to be 36 and hailing from Rhinebeck)

That’s a good start. Tania Hollander is a member of the NY Green Party... and in 2002 shared an office in Brooklyn with Rachael Treichler, the future New York State Green Party candidate for New York Attorney General in 2006.

Tania also signed the “Not in our name” petition... Surprise surprise. She’s a true liberal’s liberal.

I also just looked at the Indictment. They indicted “TANYA HOLLANDER, a/k/a “Tania Hollander” “

This gal left a wide trail. Amazing, for one so young. I wonder how she got such a fast start. This “Emperor’s Club” was started in 2004... just a couple years after she left Binghamton U.

Maybe this type of stuff just comes naturally to a liberal. I wouldn’t know for sure.

She was even doing newspaper interviews in March 2007. http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200770328005

Some herbs are also beneficial for moms-to-be, according to Tania Hollander, a holistic health counselor who works with pregnant women in Rhinebeck, New York City and via telephone.

“Nettles are considered a tonic herb. They’re high in minerals, vitamins A, C, D, calcium and iron,” she said, noting that you can often drink herbs in a tea. “Red raspberry can help reduce the chance of miscarriage and alleviate morning sickness and help with milk production.”

Nettles and red raspberry are herbs that can be purchased in health food stores. You can buy them in bulk and make a tea out of them or you can buy a box of tea that contains them.

What to avoid

Experts say you should avoid alcohol and caffeine when pregnant. If you can’t forgo your morning cup of coffee, one cup a day is generally safe. But Jaffe warns, “A mug is not a cup. It’s at least two cups.”

“I cut back to one cup and that was a major cut for me,” said Kerry Brady, a first-time mom from Stormville. “I also avoided chocolate because it contains caffeine too.”
Many women have to give up other favorites as well. “I had to avoid my beloved sushi,” said Gina D’Angelo-Mullen from Hyde Park, noting that her doctor advised her not to eat raw fish. “I had to have cooked shrimp tempura rolls instead.”

“Eating raw or undercooked flesh of any kind raises the risk of ingesting bacteria or a parasite,” Jaffe said. “You should also avoid eating gigantic chunks of soft cheeses like blue cheese and Brie due to the bacteria risk. But if you have one piece of Brie on a cracker you don’t have to panic.”

Hollander advises clients to avoid processed foods, ones with artificial colors and sweeteners, hydrogenated oils and preservatives. “It’s best to have as much fresh food as possible,” she said.

While taking supplements is beneficial to you and your baby, there are some you shouldn’t overdo. “You have to cautious,” Hollander warned. “Some, like vitamin A, can become toxic. Be sure to ask your health-care practitioner how much to take based on your blood work.”

In fact, studies show too much vitamin A from supplements has been linked to cleft palate and other congenital defects.

Certain herbs can also be dangerous, especially for women who have a history of miscarriages, Hollander said.

“Be careful with parsley early in pregnancy. It could affect holding the pregnancy,” said Hollander, noting that you should also steer clear of licorice and sage because they have steroid-like properties. Sage can also decrease lactation, she said.

“During the first trimester, avoid basil, sage and rosemary, which could encourage miscarriage. Be cautious and use culinary herbs sparingly throughout your entire pregnancy,” she said, noting that in general small amounts of these herbs are OK. “But when you’re dealing with pregnancy it’s always better to be cautious and avoid completely if there is any doubt. If you’re unsure, consult with a doctor or a practitioner who is familiar with them.”

This Tanya Hollander woman doesn’t look like anything with strings worth pursuing.

She wasn’t making ends meet in Holistic medicine, got engaged to a realtor during the housing crash, took a shady job for extra money, and is in this way over what she signed up for.

I’d expect her to cut a deal with the Feds at the first opportune time.

It never fails. High class hookers look like models and actresses, and the madames look like they can stop a clock. Heidi Fleiss looked OK all gussied up in court, but now that she doesn’t have to look good, she looks like a methhead.

“dead songwriter Jeff Buckley”

Interesting. His dad, Tim Buckley, wrote a song that might be appropriate for Eliot’s mess...here...(or music to read this thread by)...

Tania (or Tanya) Hollander?

I wonder if Tania is related to Xaviera Hollander (aka The Happy Hooker).

Xaviera was another well known high priced whore and a madam in New York City back in the 1968 - 1971 era.

She got busted and ended up making more money writing a book and a magazine column about her whoring than she ever made actually whoring.
The Happy Hooker

" In 1968, she left her job as the secretary of the Dutch consulate in Manhattan to become a call girl, where she made $1,000 a night. A year later she opened her own brothel called the Vertical Whorehouse and soon became New York City's leading madam. In 1971, she was arrested for prostitution by New York police and was forced to leave the U.S."

Holistic healing hasn’t got a holistic career ladder. Neither does pimpin’, but at least the work is steady, even in a bad economy. Thanks george76.

I can't speak for pimpin', but "holistic anything" seems to be a growth industry in the Mid-Hudson Valley, which draws wackos and fruitloops in disproportionate numbers to places like Rhinebeck, Woodstock, New Paltz, and Rosendale.

BTW, has anyone determined whether there is a connection between Tanya Hollander and Xavier Hollander, who was a high-priced prostitute back in the 1960-1970's, and the author of the of the best selling book, The Happy Hooker? She also wrote a monthly column for Penthouse Magazine for many years. Note that the publisher of Penthouse Magazine, Bob Guccione, resided in a large estate in Rhinebeck for many years and may still live there.

PB: you likely missed this post of mine, from the transcript of the indictment, regarding just how very concerned about the women's health these pimps were: ---<>---<>---<>---<>---<>---

Probe into call girl ring started at IRS (Spitzer insisted on paying cash) ^

Posted by AFPhys to KoRn; Marie2
On News/Activism ^ 03/12/2008 4:16:06 AM EDT · 66 of 66 ^

Paragraph 32 from page 23 of the indictment might give you some pause to consider what prostitution does to the girl (my emphasis):

------

32. On or about January 30, 2008, at approximately 9:55 p.m., TEMEKA RACHELLE LEWIS, a/k/a "Rachelle," the defendant, using the 6587 Number, called MARK BRENER, a/k/a "Michael" and CECIL SUWAL, a/k/a "Katie," a/k/a "Kate," the defendants, at the 0937 Number, to discuss problems with one of the Emperors Club's prostitutes in Los Angeles. During the call, LEWIS explained to BRENER that the prostitute missed an appointment, and had left a "crazy text" for her last night. LEWIS told BRENER that he might not want to sent the prostitute out any more. BRENER and LEWIS discussed the possibility that the prostitute was on drugs. SUWAL, speaking in the background, commented that there was an "elephant standing in the living room" with respect to the prostitute's actions. BRENER agreed that LEWIS could not do business with the prostitute the way she was acting. [Pimp] LEWIS commented that it seemed that "a lot of these girls deteriorate to this point." (Call 4554R).

-------

The pimps know what this does to these beautiful women. It is time for others to recognize the Truth, too.

Prostitution is NOT a victimless crime. It greatly damages the women involved, even if they are not "underage". The pimps recognize the truth, as can be seen in this phone call.
