Romney would truly be better as a possible head of a cabinet position in a McCain administration. IMHO, either Mike Pence, Sarah Palin, Herman Cain, Mark Sanford, or Janice Rogers Brown would be a better choice for VP for McCain, if he seriously wants enough conservatives to truly be more than willing to vote for him on November 4. My instinct still tells me that McCain will truly pick another RINO to run with him instead, such as Charlie Crist, and this move will only anger nearly all of the conservative voters base even more.
It wouldn't bother me if Romney carpetbagged his birthplace and ran for Governor, it's an open seat in 2010.
We sure could use a little help here...
Why do you say that?
Unfortunately Romney’s sounding less like a true “quote Conservative” and more like a party tool...
LOL!

The democrats are gonna have a lot of great options this year. They can vote for liberal democrats or they can vote for liberal republicans. Seems the FR RINO’s here are quite happy with that option too. Sad.
“’There are really no hard feelings, I don’t think, on either side of this,’ he said in the interview.”
You wish.
Anything to piss off our own base and cause them to sit this one out. Nothing to vote for just dems the republicans hope you hate enough to vote to the polls to vote against. To bad they have not taken time to study the history of their own voters....just stupid.
Romney is still the second highest popular vote getter, and the second highest in delegates...
Mitt Romney is the best choice for McCain’s VP
He is the smartest guy around ....he knows economics...(McCain’s weakness)
“Hes almost begging for the job.”
Well, McCain isn’t going to live forever.
:P
A great matchup. Just stack it up against any possible Obama ticket and it’s a powerhouse.
I say that Huckabee’s political career is over due to how he ran his campaign (pandering to a special group way too much) and staying in the race way too long. He has work to do to “make it up” to the party. Let’s see what he does.
Romney is sooo good at saying the right thing--the classy thing, at the right time. Remarkable!
He would have debated the pantsuit off of Hillary and would have made Obama look like the inexperienced all fluff and no substance candidate he is.
We COULD have had real must see TV...but noooo we had to choose the Beevis and Butthead giggling McCain. Just lovely.
BTW...DID ANYONE LIKE COLMES' NEW GLASSES, AND DARK LIPSTICK??? HE LOOKS LIKE LARRY KING NOW. WEIRD.
Your #132
:)
I actually listened to the interview, and he was asked. And he said “anybody” would say yes. And that it would be an honor.
When he was then asked if he EXPECTED a call, he said there were a LOT of people on McCain’s list. He gave no suggestion he thought he should be ON the list or be the choice.
it’s just a simple fact that democrats voted for romney because of dailykos just as republicans voted for hillary in texas because of rush. The results were compromised and you can’t say that it gives you a good indication for the general election.
Yes, his father was governor in the 60’s-70’s. And he wasn’t exactly known for limiting the size of govt and cutting taxes.
“one of George Romneys major achievements as governor was a new income tax, which he pushed for years and which finally passed the Michigan legislature in 1967.”
That is a history that won’t be used to help Mitt if he wants to make the case that he’s good for the economy.
Also, Michigan is just one state. If he’s on the ticket, many social conservatives will just stay home as they have enough problems with McCain.
I ruled Huckabee out the day I heard his global warming rants.
But I think he ran a respectful campaign and I’m glad he stayed in until the end. Frankly, the partisan push that “Huck should drop out” or “_____ should drop out” was a real turn off to a lot of voters.
The GOP needs to get back to issues and sell ideas and quit playing party games, IMO.
