Wrap up of what people have to say about the Eliot Spitzer debacle. As you'd imagine, a lot of people have an awful lot to say.
Ahhh, schadenfreude.

They’ll never catch me. Not ME!!!
That’s what happens when the blood rushes from one brain to the other.
Hahahaha, it’s truly remarkable isn’t it?
you’ve got to see this guy venting too, it’s amazing

Hey, Spitzer's a Clinton Backing Liberal Democrat...
They do not have to answer to the law like the common folk or them low down scurvy, evil Republicans!
This guy should receive the same treatment they gave Larry Craig.
Dems think they should be held to a separate standard.
Spitzer violated the Mann Act, a Federal Law against transporting women across state lines for immoral purposes.
These politicians are so arrogant, so full of their own power and hybris that feel they are not constrained by the same restrictions which apply to ordinary mortals and liberal Dems like Spitzer are the worst.
Here's a guy who has made many MANY enemies in his rise to power. And we're not talking about mere street thugs either--some of the most powerful people on Wall St. They detest him. This is a guy who wasn't just a tough prosecutor (Guiliani was that), but this guy was mean. He showed no mercy for anyone caught in his web.
People in his own party detested him...he has shown no loyalty over the years to those who helped him climb.
So now he is being spoken about as a possible future superstar of the democrat party...he is governor of one of the biggest and most influential states in the country and what does he do?? Goes to a hooker and leaves a footprint. All this knowing full well how well-connected his enemies were.
My theory: he was punishing himself out of guilt. Not only did everyone he knew hate him, but he hated himself as well. He was playing it risky with a chance to get caught because--deep down inside--he wanted to get caught.
OK--Dr. Freud mode is now off.
I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if he didn’t resign. Supposedly his wife is urging him to hang in there and ride it out.
If they have the dirt their claiming on him he’s out, but if there’s any ounce of possibility that he can ride it out he’ll have no shame in doing it.
Hard time for vice crime.
Good. For a moment there I thought you were gonna hurt yourself.
> This guy should receive the same treatment they gave Larry Craig.
Craig is still in office, and looking for summer interns. Is that what you want? I want all the degenerates to leave the positions of power, but I’ll settle for the ones exposed to the light.
Wow!
I dunno--not much else makes sense to me, although feelings of power and indestructibility could also have been the prime movers.
Spitzer to a "T".
Why would a married person, in a position of authority, with so much to lose, who worked so hard to get where they were, throw it all away for a few minutes of pleasure?.... because he’s a horny bastard.
I thought he was forced to resign in disgrace. He should have and so should this guy.
"Hey.. If Bill Clinton can get away with it... So can I..."
"Wow... Client # 6 told me that Maya is smokin!!!!" Notice the diamond ratings...
