Jeff Sessions Leads Republican Group to Introduces Tough Immigration Legislation
Office of Jeff Sessions U.S. Senator for Alabama ^ | Wednesday, March 5, 2008

WASHINGTON – In the wake of last year’s failed immigration reform efforts, twelve Republican Senators today introduced 15 specific enforcement bills, each designed to make important improvements to America’s immigration system.

Each bill in the package represents a specific step toward securing America’s borders, increasing enforcement at the workplace, or restoring law and order to our nation’s immigration system. The coalition, led by U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), will call for full Senate consideration on each of the individual bills as amendments to any appropriate legislative vehicle or as stand-alone pieces of legislation.

“The American people have made it clear that they want Congress to take action to limit illegal immigration, secure our borders and restore lawfulness to our immigration system,” Sessions said. “We cannot afford to sit idly and do nothing. This package of legislation represents a series of politically achievable steps that will make real improvements to our immigration system.”

The package of legislation covers a range of issues, including completion of the border fence, establishing English as the national language, discouraging states from granting driver’s licenses to illegal aliens and establishing mandatory minimum sentences for illegal entry into the United States.

Introducing specific bills is necessary due to the failure of last year’s comprehensive immigration reform legislation. The lesson learned from that debate was that Congress must secure the nation’s borders in order to demonstrate credibility to the American people.

Actually, I live in Cullman and don’t do much fishing at all. I’m too busy to have a time consuming hobby like fishing or golfing, although I love both of them.

RatRipper was derived from my enjoyment of “ripping” the incoherent, illogical and often evil political positions of liberal DemocRATS. Hence, the call name “RatRipper”. I thought it was a pretty cool name.

BTTT... The combination of taxes for controlling the climate, funding health and education for illegals, bailing out the subprime lenders and the recent gas tax Americans are about to become as one with the world.

Prayer up that it be the Will of the Heavenly Father enough Americans will demand at the minimum some tax relief.

The White House looked into a plan that would allow illegal immigrants to stay in the United States. The plan called for a million Mexicans to marry a million of our ugliest citizens. - Dennis Miller

Since the day (my hero) Senator Sessions appeared on the Senate floor to denounce the 'Masters of the Universe' and their devious scheme....

..I wondered how it all came about.

Does anyone have a timeline as to how the devious little schemers...McCain,Kennedy,Graham,etc & with Bush's prodding (meeting secretly) were discovered before they could ramp up enough votes to pop it into place...(which they almost did)

I know Heritage Foundation and Numbers USA had a part in exposing them....

..I just wish I could read the whole account.

Does it exist somewhere in chronological order?

Just curious....would be especially enlightening to read.

I believe it has made a dent in their plans.....

..even given that McCain is where President Bush (I believe) promised him he would be...the Republican nominee...

...it still dented them badly.

The wheels have somewhat come off or are at least wobbly, with states taking matters into their own hands and enforcing illegal immigration laws!

It exposed their sordid, corrupt/vile attempts to abandon our sovereignty, our free republic.

Millions of (previously) trusting Americans realized they had been betrayed.

I am so thankful to Senator Sessions and all who care about America and her freedoms.

Oh I know. It would be heaven to have a Congress full of Jeff Sessions. We wouldn’t have to keep a constant eye on them if that were the case.
