A longtime Republican district fell to the Democrats Saturday when a wealthy businessman and scientist snatched former House Speaker Dennis Hastert's congressional seat in a closely watched special election. This is going to be a VERY bad time for us, thanks to Bush and the RINOs like McCain.

The American people are buying into socialism.
Foster promises free health care for everyone.
I would have thought Cook county tax increse would scare
voters away from the democrats but it seems as though the people in Dupage and Kane county want high taxes too.
Apparently, Americans believe that government
is the suckling pig of prosperity.

Does this could foreshadow a huge republican loss in
November?

What’s more appalling is that there is a candidate for Congress (another speceial election) with promise in Indianapolis whom the GOP is not supporting because they couldn’t afford to, due to the Oberweis candidacy. How’s that for inept?

Things surely look grim. The congress is the only protection we have given who will be the next president. Take your pick fro the terrible trifecta. If congress gets too many more leftists, things will get very ugly for America.

November is going to be a massacre. Sorry to be so pessimistic but the handwriting is on the wall.

I have to agree

We’ve lost our country.

"Calm down" :-) My daughter & her boyfriend, 18 & 20, have recently become committed conservatives. This is how it starts. This was me and millions more in 1978. Take heart.

Bush was sent to destroy conservatism, and he's done a good job. That said, I'm not going to miss that establishment lard-ass, Hastert.

“The American people are buying into socialism.”

Hence why leadership is important. Someone needs to explain to the American people why “free” this or “free” that is harmful, unconstitutional and freedom is the better way to go. Bush not only did not step up but made the problem worse with his “compassionate conservatism” big govt spending nonsense.

Those who can't teach, coach wrestling.

Wait a minute. I only decided to go to medical school when I could not find a teaching job & I lost my job as a wrestling coach.

I'm not kidding.

We Republicans need to suck it up and get used to this. November is going to be a massacre. Sorry to be so pessimistic but the handwriting is on the wall. We’ve lost our country. That “new direction” the “media” keeps telling us about is the path to Socialism/Communism.

For all the FReepers in my district who think they've done all by merely voting and doing jack s**t when there's far more work than we volunteers can do... it's not so long until I retire and emigrate and leave you to the country you so richly deserve.
