“The American people are buying into socialism.”
Hence why leadership is important. Someone needs to explain to the American people why “free” this or “free” that is harmful, unconstitutional and freedom is the better way to go. Bush not only did not step up but made the problem worse with his “compassionate conservatism” big govt spending nonsense.
This election tonight was another catastrophic public relations loss. Some Repubs think they have a chance in the Indiana special election Tuesday but I don’t see how when even this “solid” GOP district was lost tonight. What other special elections are coming up? Dems will be back up to their 240+ status from the 1970s and 80s unless the trend changes soon, and there is no sign of that.
But how? How can you sell the idea of working for one's own fulfillment is "better" than getting it for "free" off the back of someone else?
So many people in this country are so used to living off of some kind of government support. How can someone who promises to take all of that away possibly win against someone who promises to give people anything and everything they want?
Someone already did.
Well, we have very few conservative leaders with any credibility left, so the leadership is going to have to come from the grassroots. Unfortunately, the grassroots is divided and many (most?) of them do not have a proper understanding of the Constitution or the proper role of limited gov’t in a constitutional republic (ie. basic civics).
Sadly, the Republican Party is overrun with REMFs.
It's going to take a couple of election cycles to remove the dead limbs.
Good luck with that.
The most unpopular message in the world is "Your government is not your nanny. Take care of your own problems."
Politicians who say that either never get elected or are thrown out.
Government IS a pig trough of money right now and the people know it. They have concluded it is just a matter of demanding your own piece of the action from the politicians. (There is so much gubmint money there, there must be some for ME!)
In fact, people have decided they are suckers if they don't try to get some of that "free" money.
I heard an employee at Radio Shack the other day tell a customer to get his $40 voucher from the federal gubmint to help purchase his digital converter for his TV.
What the hell is the federal gubmint doing giving people vouchers to upgrade their TV sets?
Why don't the politicans just promise to buy new digital, high definition TV's for everyone?
That will be next.
Actually B O = Islofascism
Hillbill= socialism/marxism
