Here is video of John McCain talking on Trinity Broadcasting Network about his faith and some of his experiences while a POW in Vietnam. The video was added to YouTube in March 2007, but I'm not sure when the interview actually took place. Very moving and inspirational. . .

Bring a tissue. You may need it.
We don’t need more emotion in this process.
I will want to listen to that...soon as I am done with music and dinner. Hold my place. I can’t cry now, I am about to have company. =\
Carry on, John McCain. You’ve earned your peace.
There’s nothing like appreciation and honor for the great sacrifice of heroes like John McCain from a grateful nation.
He has my respect. God bless him in this next endeavor.
Very inspirational. We’ve been pretty tough on McCain over the years over policy and tactics, but there is absolutely no denying this man’s patriotism and faith.
I’d be proud to have him lead my country.
That’s the first I’ve ever heard of him being a Christian. He sure doesn’t vote like one.
No kidding. Anyone who supports the Mengele-esque abomination that is embryonic stem cell research has seriously gone astray.
He had a difficult time choosing between Episcopalian and Baptist. It appears he uses whichever is to his political advantage at any given time.
The last sentence from your source tells me all I need to know.
“In 1993, during one of his many trips back to Hanoi, McCain asked the Vietnamese not to make public the records they hold pertaining to returned U.S. POWs.”
Listen people,
You may not like John McCain’s politics, but to believe McCain was not a POW hero who did his very best means you must also reject the testimony of men like Bud Day - the most decorated military man alive today - and Orson Swindle, and Jeremiah Denton - all of whom were there with John McCain and vouch for his bravery and integrity. Don’t let your blind hate of a man because of his politics drive you to believe the pathetic rot some are spreading about a man who suffered horrific treatment in service to his country. You have to be better people than that.
Please send references where we can read about the MOH Recipients who have said these things about McCain. I’d like to see it.
My beef with McCain is his support for open borders, campaign-finance reform, global warming, and caring more about the Dems than conservatives. I never spent time on the threads that nitpicked or pointed out the discrepancies of McCain’s military service.
Sheesh...this thread really nosedived. We’re such an insensitive bunch.
He’s a brave man. He’s still no one that I can support in November.
Listen, we aren’t taking anything away from McCain has a POW forty years ago.
Where I break company with him is that he and John Kerry, Traitor-Massachusetts, shut down the inquiry into the fate of the 600 KNOWN POWs we left behind in Vietnam in his hearings in 1993, and publicly humiliated the POW families for wanting more information.
These were his fellow POWs, for God’s sake.
Use all the tissues you want. But don’t give me this McCain is wonderful because he was a POW crap.
A true American hero would be against amnesty, against limits on free political speech, against the scam known as global warming, wouldn’t want to non uniformed enemy comnbatants Constitutional rights, wouldn’t hesitate to waterboard terrorists if the fate of a city full of Americans was at stake, wouldn’t think the killing of embryos for research was dandy, wouldn’t have Dr. Juan Hernandez as an immigration advisor, wouldn’t institute a Gang of 14 to hamstring the Republican leader of the Senate and the President from getting the judicial appoin tments he wants, wouldn’t have even thought about jumping to the Dem side of the Senate aisle in 2001 or for one second consider becoming John Kerry’s running mate in 2004.
Benedict Arnold was once an American hero also.
If anything McCain has proven tobe the Manchurian Candidate for the GOP.
You’re outta yer mind if you think McCain is worse than Hitlery or Barry O.
