Barack Obama won the Wyoming caucuses Saturday, beating Hillary Clinton by double digits after a day of historic turnout in the state.
With 96 percent of precincts reporting, Obama had 59 percent to Clinton’s 40 percent. Both candidates campaigned in the state ahead of the caucuses, but the onus was on Obama to regain his momentum after Clinton disrupted his winning streak Tuesday, scoring wins in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island.
Her victories kept her campaign alive, pushing the race forward to Wyoming, where just 12 convention delegates in 23 county caucuses were at stake. Next up is Mississippi, which holds its primary Tuesday, and then Pennsylvania, which votes April 22.
With the almost unprecedented political attention, turnout was high as thousands of Wyoming voters deluged caucus sites.
Obama got a big bump from Albany County, which contains the University Wyoming. The state Democratic Party reported 75 percent of caucus-goers there went for Obama.
My belief also.
The country is starting to get a good look at Obama and that is why his long winning streak came to an end last Tuesday. He is clearly losing momentum in the race for the nomination. I think you would see the same trend in the general election as the independent types in the middle of the political spectrum start to have second thoughts about electing someone President of the United States just because he looks good and gives a good speech.
I think we have a better shot at beating Obama than beating Hillary.

“The bigger the lie, the better the chance they think they’ve got. That’s been their whole approach,” he said. “She’s going to lose a whole generation of people who got involved in politics believing it could be something different.”
Bradley believes that Clinton will stop at nothing to tear down Obama even if it boosts John McCain, who was confirmed last week as the Republican nominee: “The Clintons do not do long-term planning. They’re total tacticians and right now their focus is on Obama, not McCain...”
McCain will win the support of alot of fathers in the fathers/Pro-family movements, because of Bill Bradley support for Obama...

Crossover was a poor choice of words. What I meant is that you can change your party affiliation by March 22 (30 days prior) so lots of Republicans may change to Democrat to vote for Obama, then change back to GOP after the primary. But then you couldn't vote for local and state GOP candidates.
For me, it would have nothing to do with the score. It would be to disprove Fast Eddie's declaration that people in PA won't vote for a black man (even though a LOT of us voted for Swannie). It would be only for the satisfaction of having Fast Eddie eat those words.
You mean like Ohio, TN, Rhode Island, MA and NJ (where the "large hispanic population" is not large enough to swing elections yet).
Obama wins in states where the black population constitutes a near majority of the Dem vote (the South) or in state where the black population is too small to create "tension" with the whites (especially blue collar whites). Hillary wins where there are large swathes of blue collar whites, particularly white Catholics, and a history of "racial tension" (Ohio, NJ, NY, MA, etc.).
Hispanics were a factor in CA and TX, but not so much elsewhere. It was the lunchpail whites and elderly women who gave Hillary most of her votes. I look at my own state and NJ, and notice that while Obama won my county (home to Princeton University and the State Capitol), Hillary won overwhelmingly in the blue collar counties facing Philadelphia.
Basically, the said Obama will win either in states that blacks are a majority of Democrat voters or in states where blacks are such a small minority that racial tensions are non-existent.
That would be me. ;-)
I may be un-PC to say that, but it is true. I saw it happen on the ground here in Jersey, and it even explains why the counties that went for Hillary voted for her in the first place.
I've only been through there once, but I had already been through Europe and the spellbinding highlands of Scotland and the gorgeous Alps in Switzerland and Italy and the Pyrennes of Spain and Andorra, and I can say without a doubt that Wyoming is the most beautiful of them all, and the most beautiful state in the Union.
People may call you un-PC, but they can also call you correct.
