There is Blood and Crip activity in Durham, just a little bit up the road from Chapel Hill.
Lately, there is a growing presence of MS-13 too.

Could be crips, the 5 pointed star is also symbolic of People’s Nation, a gang confederation made up of many individual gangs pledging loyalty to People’s Nation. Their rivals are the Folk Nation which uses the 6 pointed star. Just throwing that out there...
