That’s a good point. His request is based on something that cannot be tested for though. What is to keep every other person facing deportation from claiming that they are gay? If it’s got a precedent.
People who escape places like Iran should be found homes elsewhere agreed. ‘I’m gay so you have to give me asylum’ seems a bit off point.

It always seemed to me that the best place for Gays to be on the planet are in Western Christian Democracies.

At worst they may have to deal with someone calling them a sinner, but it seems that every major city has these Gay Pride rallies, so there must be a lot of official tolerance for their lifestyles.

I would think that smart thinking gays would be all Republicans when it came to national defense and supportive of policies that make for a strong nation. But they are apparently not.

As to why, I can only assume that they take their security for granted, and they consider their biggest enemy their fellow citizens and neighbors who don't 100% approve of their lifestyle, like the Christian church or people who value Conservative family values, and don't worry so much about what's going on elsewhere in the world.

Why seek help when people are screaming that you are 'normal'? There are more more drunks in this country (USA) than there are homosexuals. It affects them both in negative ways and they need help. I'd pay to watch a 'drunk pride parade'.
