Rove explained that he and McCain got to know each other during the 2004 campaign. In a separate interview, Mehlman noted that McCain was completely loyal to the president in 2004 and worked incredibly hard to help him get elected. According to Taylor, The Bush Republicans here in town are excited for John McCain.

And McCain doesn't?
McCain's Senior Team - questions about John McCain's foreign policy plans

National-security issues, which McCain sees as one of his strongest points, may end up being his Achilles' heel. Already there is concern among his conservative friends that McCain may lack the disposition to command, showing an uncertain sense of purpose and outright bad political judgment.
"What's the first thing you would do as president?" the Detroit News recently asked McCain.
"The first thing I would do," the candidate answered, "is call in John Kerry, Bob Kerrey, Joe Biden, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Henry Kissinger, Dick Lugar, Chuck Hagel and several others and say we've got to get foreign-policy, national-security issues back on track."
no I was being serious I usually don’t make comments and read things that I have no faith in...my take on Rasmussen is that its a good running yardstick...his Presidentials in 2004 were right on the money... he had to adjust at the beginning because of the influx of new voters and other issues. I think he has a good running record but its really your call whether you use it as a pulse or not. I hear Rasmussen on Hannity and he sounds very reasonable in his approach.
BIG Bump to all of that!
“you want him to resign so the seat will go to a democrate”
How in Gods’ name would anyone notice the blasted difference?
Nice of Mehlman to take time from browsing the satin sheet sets at Bed, Bath and Beyond to help out MCain.
Somebody oughta to clue McCain in that Mehlman was the screw-up who master-minded the Nov 2006 Repub debacle——and was shoved out the RNC door for his trouble.
I guess McCain doesn’t pay attention.....when the phone rings at 3:00 AM, McCain will bark “we don’t want anymore magazines.”
LOL. I had pretty much given up on FoxNews after their Rudy-arse-kissing routine. When they announced Rove would be a regular on the show, I tuned out permanently. One viewing of Rove with his little white-board routine was enough for me.
“saying you are a Reagan conservative with all your vile goes against Reagans 2 important rules. We are all Americans after 5pm and never speak ill of a fellow republican...you flunk both test...”
Your boy Juanito might want to study up on that latter rule, he’s been slippin’ a bit over the years. All the bitterness directed at that back-stabbing son-of-a-b*tch is more than WELL DESERVED!
Any pain or distress suffered by a liberal is a good thing.
So, is that the new litmus test of the GOP? If you don't vote for McCain, you aren't a conservative? Wow! You flat-earthers are somethin' else!
I am beginning to like John McCain. Rove’s idea of getting Mcain’s story out to the public is a good one. I can find alot of things to disagree with him, but I can find just as many reasons to like him.
Today, I officially left the Republican Party and became a registered Independent. In North Carolina, I can now vote on either the Republican, Democrat or Libertarian primary ballot.
I have no intentions of returning to the GOP until they return to the conservative principles that once ruled the party.
That really is the problem with the current GOP. They just don't get it. Instead, they send out their thugs (the GOP Charm Police) to demand that you comply. It's gonna be a long 9 months!
“So, is that the new litmus test of the GOP? If you don’t vote for McCain, you aren’t a conservative?”
ROFLMAO......VOTE FOR THE libeRal OR YOU ARE ONE!
The GOP Charm Police!
Now you have me LOL! Thanks, I’d like to steal that phrase a time or two.
That would be me. AND, I almost hate to pull that lever for McCain as much as for one of the dems.
What a sad way to have to vote. :(
don’t need your vote...NC is Republican territory. Your vote doesn’t matter....
He doesn't? So then you agree with his statements that I posted?
I don't know of anyone in the conservative movement that agrees with the above. Except perhaps McCain's comrades at the Commie School for A New Republicanism.McCain's Senior Team - questions about John McCain's foreign policy plans

Your vote doesn’t matter either. In fact, I will cancel your vote out in November.
The GOP doesn’t need my money or my time either. That is why I no longer want to be part of the new liberal RINO GOP.
