I hope and pray that those with common sense prevail and take back our God given rights to teach our children at home.

This is the very argument that the elitists will use against this cause for they do not believe in our creator.

Bingo!

Destroy God, and all rights come from the government.

Fred Glass, spokesman for the California Federation of Teachers, said requiring a child's teacher to hold a state teaching credential is hardly a bad thing.

"It's a matter of holding the standards high enough to ensure that children get a decent education," he said. A credential doesn't guarantee that, he said, but "it's probably the best measure we have."

I wonder if they have any evidence that certified teachers produce better educated children than uncertified ones.

These politicians deserve to be in a federal lockup.

“I am afraid that the Marxists who control the government schools may succeed in destroying another generation or two. By the time conservatives finally realize what is happening, it will be too late to turn back the Marxist march to slavery.”

Me, too. It is very effective to have controlled such a large percentage of the whole nation’s children’s input for 12 years of their lives. They’ve done it for at least two generations now.

The family in question was not “homeschooling”. the kids were enrolled in a charter school and were frequently skipping school so the mother could “home teach”. Because they were enrolled in a charter school, they were considered truant under the California compulsory schooling laws.

If the parents had been “homeschooling” as defined in the California statutes, the ruling would not have been reversed on appeal.

While we need to be watchful against government interference in the right to homeschool, we also need to be careful not to confuse truancy for “home teaching” with “homeschooling”.

(Note: My family and I homeschool. I help, and MortMom is the principal/lead instructor/school counselor/etc. I’m just the visiting math/science/literature/programming professor.)

The socialists are on a multi pronged offensive.

Now that they have those two generations under their spell, they are advancing AGW inspired socialism, the homosexual agenda, and many other causes.

They are making the attempt to take over this country in a more assertive fashion than they have ever done before.

I think your bias and somewhat irrational hatred towards credentialed teachers is guiding your thoughts.

It is not true that private schools deliberately seek out teachers without a credential because they think they are more qualified. Having a credential does not in itself make a teacher less qualified than one without one — nor the reverse. It is just a meaningless piece of paper.

There is still time, but not a lot. Conservatives must act now. I still believe there can be a peaceful resolution.

The following would **peacefully** revolutionize the nation:

Conservatives must create private scholarship foundations that would award private vouchers to kids attending private schools. These foundations could also sponsor individual teachers who could then set up micro-schools, mini-schools, dame schools, one room school houses, virtual schools, tutoring centers, and homeschool cooperatives.

The private foundations would certify the curriculum and teachers, and test the students. The foundations should also set up sports leagues to break the government monopoly on team sports.

The Prussian style, brick and mortar school should be abandoned. First, they are expensive to build and there are many health, zoning, and employee taxes and insurance issues. Second, with today's technology education can be delivery far more efficiently and with more flexibility and individuality than in a large bureaucratic, lock-step settings. Finally, it is cruel warehouse children and to treat them like prisoners.

Yes! Conservatives could do this, **IF THEY WANTED**! We are a wealthy nation! Not only could we offer and outstanding conservative education to every child in the nation, we could likely do it for every child in the world. We are that rich!

The conservative private school vouchers would need to cover the full cost of the education. Unfortunately government is giving its education away ( to the parent) for the cost of $0! Conservatives must match the price of $0 to the parent if we are going to wean parents away from their government school. Free babysitting is powerfully addictive.

If Harvard and hundreds ( perhaps thousands) of colleges across this nation can have an endowments in the billions and multi-millions then conservatives could do the same for K-12 education.

Conservatives MUST act now!

If we do not rescue our nation's children from the government schools, and immediately begin to SHUT DOWN government school indoctrination camps, the Marxists will win in the voting booth! The Marxists WILL succeed in indoctrinating the next generation of voters, and we will all become slaves!

Yes! It **is ** that serious!

I am exasperated! Why are conservatives asleep? And,,,the three most powerful men in talk radio ( Rush, Sean, and OReilly) aren't doing anything effective about it!

The Big Three are NOT plainly, boldly, and frequently telling their listers to REMOVE their children from the government schools.

The Big Three ( Rush, Sean, and OReilly) rarely even call the enemy what it is: Marxism!

The Big Three (Rush, Sean, and OReilly)to my knowledge are not encouraging their listeners to organize MASSIVE school tax revolts in voting booth.

Rush, Sean, and OReilly have NOT ( to my knowledge) covered the California homosexual bill SB 777 on their programs! They have not reported ( to my knowledge) that California has approved the teaching of communism in the schools. They have not reported the David Parker case in Massachusetts.

The Big Three have never suggested that conservatives start their own private voucher foundations.

The Big Three ( to my knowledge) have never plainly told their listeners that the Marxists are indoctrinating the next generation of voters. Or the today's government schooled kids my kill freedom in the voting booth.

Honestly, the Marxists in our government schools are in the process of KILLING freedom and the three most powerful conservative men in America are in a COMA!

I read the judge's report. I am not confused.

The judge did NOT confine his remarks to this particular family's paperwork.

The judge DID write a general screed that threatens and calls into question every homeschooler’s God given right to educate their child at home!

Please. No facts. This is all about feeeeeeeelings.

No, it is all about MONEY.

Every home schooled pupil "costs" the district (like tax cuts "cost" the treasury; or spending tax dollars is "investing") the per-diem they would otherwise receive for one more bored, drugged "student" warming a desk seat.
