Keyes would do for the Constitution Party what he did for the GOP in Illinois.

Keyes didn't kill the Republican Party in Illinois, he just encased it in a stainless-steel alloy and buried it 1000ft under the ground in an unused salt mine.

Why would any conservative run in Illinois? They’d have as good a chance in Mass. or Vt.

Seems to me that if the Illinois Republicanss had to go that far afield for a Senatorial candidate, they were pretty moribund to begin with.

The GOP in (Daley’s Soviet Republic of) Illinois was the running joke that led the National GOP into the oblivion that it is today long before Alan Keyes showed up.
