U.S. Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, on Friday sought to reassure social conservatives of his candidacy.
The Times-Picayune reported that when the Arizona senator spoke in New Orleans to the Council for National Policy, he tried to enlist their support just days after becoming his party's presumptive nominee.
"We've got to get our base moving again," McCain told the invitation-only audience of more than 400 social conservatives, the newspaper reported.
McCain touted himself as anti-abortion candidate who would fight gay marriage and cut federal spending.
"We have to work to change the culture of America to protect the rights of the unborn. That's how we will ultimately succeed," he was quoted as saying.
On the subject of global climate change, McCain acknowledged his position on the subject might be at odds with some in the audience.
"Suppose I'm wrong and climate change (is) not taking place," McCain said. "All we've done and given our kids is a greener world."

Why taxes are good.
Why open borders are good.
Why gun control is good.

On the subject of global climate change, McCain acknowledged his position on the subject might be at odds with some in the audience. He wants to tax you and regulate you over something that doesn't exist, and his drones dare tell you that you're irrational for not holding your nose.
America is one big insane asylum (with no borders).

"We've got to get our base moving again," McCain told the invitation-only audience I thought that McBackstabber's base was the New York Times! Perhaps amnesty-seeking illegals, too.
Maybe they will vote for him. I sure as hell won't.

The media will try to make Republicans as split as the totally divided dems until after the conventions so the left does not look too silly.

McCain will be on Sean Hannity radio show for an hour on Monday, March 10th, 2008.
He will also probably do Neal Boortz as well. Neal said he was trying to get him on his show.
