Peace talks are worthless and never accomplish anything in the ME...
Oh, that’s easy. There hasn’t been an excuse for an Arab East Jerusalem for decades now.
On top of that, every non-Jewish religious site in Israel should be nationalized, then leased to whatever religions and sects which to lease it, under strict terms. This would end the nonsense about who “owns” what. The al-Asqa mosque and all other sites would be Israeli property.
Finally, every hostile action by those on the West Bank or Gaza should be met by seizing or involuntarily purchasing land adjacent to the Israeli wall on the bad side, then building another section of wall around the land, to isolate it as fallow land.
This gives the Palestinians the choice. Stop attacking or eventually lose all your land. It is a truly “progressive” system, in that one way or another, it will stop the violence. No further effort to maintain the status quo is necessary.
It has the additional benefit of making the wall layered, so that instead of a single wall they would need to breech to invade Israel, there would be multiple walls.
I understand one Hamas official claimed the attack, another said it wasn’t theirs. Last night al Aska Martyrs Brigades (Fatah) claimed it, which would mean there’s a good chance American arms and training were used. In any case since the attack was mounted from the Jewish Quarter, aka East Jerusalem, it would seem to be prudent to close access to Jerusalem for non-Israeli Arabs.
Amen and Amen
Nope, Lybia voted to prevent the UN from condemming. Proves the Muslim world is at war with the non-Muslim world.
Soon, there will be people (some genuine but misguided conservatives, some DU trolls) coming here, saying that we must forgive those who committed this barbaric act. Before that happens, I’d like to quote the words of a wise rabbi who made a statement right after 9-11. It can apply to this incident too.
“We are constantly told by politicians, by reporters, by psychologists, and sadly, by many of our religious leaders that it is always wrong to hate, always right to forgive. That is simply not true. It is not wrong to hate that which is evil or to refuse to forgive the Unforgivable, so long as you don’t let the hate control you and turn you into the thing you hate.”
Contrary to liberal stereotypes and lies, we’re civilized people. We can hate terrorists and go on with the rest of our lives. It’s the liberals who let hatred (for conservatives) consume them. Just read anything on DU or Kos for a perfect example.
Well said. Could not agree more.
This was the work of bloody worthless savages who can kill, but can’t prevent G-d from gathering His innocent ones unto His bosom.
Their power of evil is indeed limited.
“Attack them and take over all of Palestine.”
And then what?
Israel will own a bunch of Palestinians. This solves nothing. It just gathers the vipers to their bosom.
Obviously, they do not have the chutzpah to do what they should have done years ago, kick all Arabs out completely. They just can’t, won’t, do that.
So the alternative is to create a situation *not* of ineffectually trying to maintain the status quo, which is what they have been doing for far too long; but to create a unilateral situation where either the Palestinians behave, or they are kicked out.
It is like prison in reverse. Society has a right to put the destructive and murderous in prison. Israel does so as well. So what is the difference between that and kicking those who are destructive and murderous out of the area entirely.
Since they are fully supported by their families, and the rest of the Palestinians, then they should be given the same option: NOT A CHOICE, but an option: with every attack against Israel, the border shall be enlarged.
Eventually, if the attacks keep coming from Gaza, the border will encompass all of Gaza. There will not be a square foot left on which a Palestinian foot can trod.
And this will end the violence. It will not “curtail” the violence, or “reduce” the violence, it will END it.
Either the Palestinians stop with the violence, or they get pushed so far away it doesn’t matter. The Gazans can live in Egypt, and the West Bank Palestinians can live in Jordan.
They can choose to be violent, or they can choose peace. But they will no longer have any say in what will happen to them if they make either choice. Either they will be peaceful and stay, or they will be violent and be pushed out.
It’s already a shallow lake:

Well it really is on their agenda. NBC had that POS Martin Fletcher on tonite to (exact words) "put it in context for us". Fletcher then proceeded to compare this massacre of innocent students to the attack on terrorists in Gaza.
How I despise those commies.
I agree! It is insanity. Those that curse Israel are cursed. We are hypocrites. We go after our enemies, we don't give them our land.
olmert is insane, and a pawn of George Bush’s quest for a legacy. Why in heaven’s name do the Israeli’s not get rid of Olmert and get Bibi Netanyahu back in as PM? They are doomed if they let Olmert get his way on alleged “peace and a two state solution” which equals the self-destruction of Israel.
I'd paraphrase that and say "Don't mourn, take revenge."
The victims of the Merca Harav Yeshiva. Top row: Avraham David Moses (16), Ro'i Roth (18), Neria Cohen (15), Yonatan Yitzhak Eldar (16); Bottom row: Yochai Lifshitz (18), Segev Peniel Avihail (15), Yehonadav Haim Hirschfeld (19), Doron Meherete (26).
Both the Iranian and Syrian terrorist supporting dictatorships, coupled with their terrorist proxies (Hamas & Hezballah) must pay the absolute highest price for this mass murder of the innocent yeshiva students.
I am anticipating major protests in the streets of Jerusalem. The cozy Olmert government has got to go yesterday.
