An incitement campaign promoted by Arab leaders and MKs is what led to the terror attack at Mercaz Harav yeshiva in Jerusalem on Thursday, MK Avigdor Lieberman (Yisrael Beiteinu), said Friday.
"Their incitement certainly contributed to the atmosphere that led an Israeli citizen who works in Israel to carry out an attack," he stated.
Lieberman told Ynet that "unfortunately, we are submerged in a wave of terror. It doesn't matter whether it's a terrorist coming from Hebron to Dimona, an attempted lynching in east Jerusalem like several days ago, the Qassam fire on Sderot or Ashkelon or this serious attack yesterday.
"This wave of terror is no doubt the result of misguided policy, the incitement by Hamas and Jihad leaders and by those people in Israel who defined Israel's operations - designed to protect the resident of Sderot and Ashkelon - as crimes against humanity, or this incitement we witnessed in Um al-Fahm."
'MKs seek destruction of Israel as Jewish state' The MK maintained that "the Arab MKs cannot deny their responsibility for the attack in Jerusalem. The same incitement, the same collaboration with the terror group were also evident in the case of Azmi Bishara. They can't escape responsibility for the attack."
Asked what he believes should be done, Lieberman replied: "They should have been outlawed a long time ago. Some of these people traveled to Lebanon and Syria during the war, met with heads of enemy states, and continue to serve in office.
"They have also signed petitions rejecting the definition of Israel as a Jewish Zionist state. These people have been acting overtly and consciously for a long time to promote the destruction of Israel as Jewish state," he concluded.
Tell it Joe. I was outraged that the Kansas City Star buried the story inside the front section, deep inside.
We have the same kind of people here. They are called Democrats.
Israel should expel them. The USA should too.
This isn't about Joe Lieberman. Read it again.
MK?
The legislative branch of the Israeli government, the Knesset enacts laws, elects the prime minister (although he is ceremonially appointed by the President), supervises the work of the government, reserves the power to remove the President of the State and the State Comptroller from office and to dissolve itself and call new elections.
MKs are members of the knesset.
